Man and woman in court accused of child cruelty in the Midlands
A man and woman appeared before Portlaoise District Court charged with cruelty to children.
Reporting restrictions were imposed in relation to the case which mean neither accused can be identified.
The 34-year-old man and 36-year-old woman each face three charges of cruelty to children in Laois on dates in July 2021.
The court heard the DPP has directed they face trial in relation to the charges.
Judge John Brennan remanded the two accused on continuing bail to reappear before Portlaoise District Court in March for service of the book of evidence.
