Longford Roads Policing observed the driver of a car on the Main Street of Newtownforbes earlier today, May 8, using a mobile phone while driving.
Upon investigating the vehicle in question, Gardaí noticed it had “two excessively defective tyres” and that the NCT and tax on the vehicle were expired. The tax had expired in April of 2018, while the NCT expired in March 2019.
Gardaí subsequently detained the vehicle and the motorist will receive his/her day in court.
