At the recent Granard Municipal District meeting Cllr Micheàl Carrigy proposed that €5,000 would be allocated from the 2019 budget towards marketing the Knights and Conquest Center in Granard.

He praised the work which has been done so far by the local voluntary group to develop the project and spoke about the benefits to the district that this project will bring. It was agreed by all members to allocate the funds.

At the same meeting, Cllr Carrigy also proposed that €2,500 would be allocated for works that are planned at the graveyard at St Colmcille's church in Aughnacliffe.

The works include developing a new exit from the existing graveyard at the local church in the interest of road safety.

The proposal was agreed by all Councillors present.
