Man arrested in New York in connection with midlands sex offence charges
An Irish man has been arrested in New York in connection with sex offence charges which are alleged to have occurred on dates between 2004 and 2009 in the midlands.
The man, who fled Ireland in 2013, was arrested earlier this week by US Homeland Security, with assistance from Guilderland police.
The man, who is currently in custody, appeared in court on Thursday and, American news outlets are reporting that he is facing an extradition hearing next Friday, January 25.
