€7m approved for Longford social housing projects in Granard and Drumlish

€7m has been approved for two key social housing projects in Co Longford.

Drumlish will see 12 older persons dwellings that will cost €2.4m while Granard will be afforded the construction of 22 houses of mixed size at a cost of €4.6m.

Longford/Westmeath TD and Minister of State, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran said he was delighted to see movement on these housing projects for the coming year.

“I’ve worked closely with Longford County Council officials and with Minister of State Damien English to ensure that work would start on the developments at Drumlish and Granard as an urgent priority,” he added.

“Housing remains one of the Government’s number one priority and ambitious targets have been set for the constituency.

“I will be working to ensure that these targets will be achieved.”
