A huge crowd gathered to celebrate the launch of the Cullyfad National School Reunion on Saturday night last in Begley’s Bar, Killoe.
Music was provided on the night by Red Hugh. and there was lots of prizes up for grabs and refreshments were also served.
“Thanks to all that came to our launch on Saturday Night last,” said organiser Ann Murray.
“Thanks too to all of you that gave a donation on the door, bought raffle tickets, gave spot prizes and Niamh and Paddy for the use of their premises; we had a great night and look forward to the reunion next year.”
Meanwhile, the committee has been established and includes Kevin McGeoy, Anne Creighton, Bridget Dolan, Ann Murray, Róisín Lennon, Eugene Caherly, John Dowd and May Muldoon.
The plan is to hold a reunion for what is anticipated to be a very large number of past pupils, many of whom have settled all over the world.
The focus for that is next August, but, as Ann says: “There is much work to be done between now and then to bring this very special event to fruition”.
