Water restrictions imposed overnight in Co Longford have been removed

Longford Co Council has indicated this afternoon that water supply zones in Co Longford are now back in operation following water conservation measures overnight.

The areas effected include Longford town, Newtownforbes, Aughnacliffe, Moyne and Granard.

The local authority has warned however, there are still some high demand areas and owners of vacant properties are being asked to check for leaks resulting from burst pipes within their premises.

"The Irish Water website provides more information for customers who have concerns with regard to their supplies," the local authority concluded.
