Roads in south Longford in very poor condition - extreme caution is advised

Numerous routes are still blocked in Co Longford

As the adverse weather starts to abate, a number of roads in the county this morning have now been cleared.

Longford Co Council advises however, there are still numerous routes blocked and all road users should exercise caution.

In a statement this morning the local authority said the R397 Kenagh Road is now clear, while Moigh to Ballymahon Road is blocked.

“The R393 Regional Road from Carrickboy through Ratharney to county boundary is completely blocked and the R398 at Tashinny is partially blocked,” added the local authority.

“The Road at Bradys Piggery in Carrickboy is blocked and all roads in the Newtowncashel area are very poor, so extreme caution should be exercised.

A number of Roads are blocked in the Edgeworthstown and Legan area.

“Works have resumed again this morning clearing the Regional and Local roads throughout the county.
