Longford Co Council has issued a statement in the last few minutes indicating that there is still very poor driving conditions at play accross the county.
All National routes are open.

The Council said;
"The R393 Regional Road from Carrickboy through Ratharney to County Boundary is completely impassable.
"The R397 is passable with extreme caution - single lane from Terlicken to Keenagh.
"R392 is passable with care on the Mullingar end between Ballymahon and Moyvore
"A large number of local roads remain blocked throughout the County.
"Works will resume again in the morning to continue clearing the Regional roads and then moving on to the Local roads to clear them.
"Gritting was carried out this morning and again this evening on all National Routes and Regional Routes and Local Roads which are included in the Council's Winter Maintenance, with the exception of the R393 from Carrickboy to Ratharney."
