An estimated €15,000 worth of porcelein dolls have been taken following a burglary at a house in Springlawn in Longford town over the weekend
Gardaí have launched an investigation after an estimated €15,000 worth of porcelain dolls were stolen during a house break-in in Longford at the weekend.
As a consequence, thieves made off with up to 50 artefacts worth around €300 each as well as a reputed €1,000 worth of Waterford Crystal.
Investigators are satisfied the intruders entered the premises by prising open a rear window before fleeing the scene sometime later.
Gardaí are especially eager to talk to anyone who may have been offered any of these items for sale since the incident and to anyone who may have noticed anything untoward in the area between the hours mentioned.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Longford Garda Station at (043) 3350570.
