Laura Ward cuts an ecstatic figure following her crowning as Longford Rose 2017

Longford Rose Laura Ward, along with 24 other Roses and the 2017 Rose of Tralee Jennifer Byrne will travel to Vesnova Orphanage in Belarus with Adi Roche's Chernobyl Children on February 14.

They will be caring for the sick children who are victims of the awful Chernobyl nuclear tragedy which happened in 1986.

The trip is a tradition within the Rose of Tralee festival however this year, the orphanage is stretching itself to cater for the huge interest in Roses volunteering in the orphanage.

Their aim is to bring smiles to the faces of these children and to try and bring as many supplies and medical items that are badly needed over there such as calpol, sudo cream etc all which can't be got easily over there.

Laura is trying to raise as much money as possible to get these supplies to help fund the caring of these children.

A table quiz and raffle will take place in the Tally Ho on Thursday, February 1 at 8.30pm.
€10 per person. Tables can be reserved on 085 878 2791.

A raffle will be held on the night, tickets are available at Spirit Clothing, Spirit Kids, Tally Weijl, Cherche La Femme, Ward’s Pharmacy, Grafters, Moments, Kalinka Nail Bar & the Tally – Ho.

1st Prize: Styling Session in Spirit Clothing including 3 Piece Benetti Suit, Shirt, Tie & Shoes
2nd Prize: Wards Pharmacy Beauty Hamper
3rd Prize: Dinner for two at Keenan's of Tarmonbarry.
