Three people have been arrested following the seizure of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €2.8 million yesterday in Cavan.
Yesterday's intelligence led joint operation in County Cavan involved the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Revenue’s Customs Service.
The focus of the operation was to target individuals involved in Drug Trafficking and the Sale and Supply of illicit Drugs.
As a result, approximately 143 Kilos of Herbal Cannabis (subject to analysis) was seized. This material has an estimated value of €2.8 million.
A 36 year old man and a 50 year old woman were arrested and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 2006 at Ballyconnell Garda Station.
In a follow up Operation a 46 year old man was also arrested and is being detained in Cavan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 2006 in relation to the same offence.
