Longford's Student Enterprise Awards to get underway tomorrow

Students from six Longford secondary schools will set up shop in the Longford Shopping Centre tomorrow, Wednesday, as the Student Enterprise Awards take place.

Mini-companies from Meán Scoil Mhuire; St Mel’s College; Mercy Secondary School, Ballymahon; Cnoc Mhuire, Granard; Moyne Community School and Ballymahon Vocational School will display their wares – ranging from personalised gaelic football gloves to a website which helps third level students find accommodation.

The stalls will be set up in the Shopping Centre from 10am until 1pm, when locals will have a chance to purchase some of the beautiful, useful and unique wares on offer, before the competition’s winners are revealed.

The overall winner will go on to represent their school and county in the National Final in Dublin on April 20.

See tomorrow’s Longford Leader for details on some of the young entrepreneurs’ projects.
