Gardai are renewing their appeal to all drivers to comply with speed limits
Gardaí in the Longford Roads Policing Unit over the bank holiday weekend stopped a car travelling at almost 100 kilometres per hour above the speed limit.
The detection came as Gardaí implemented a nationwide Road Safety Enforcement Operation.
The driver of the car in Longford was stopped by Gardaí travelling at 136 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
Proof of insurance was also not provided, and the vehicle was seized and the driver arrested.
