The late Jimmy Rowe
Tributes have poured in for father-of-five Jimmy Rowe, who died in a car crash during Storm Isha.
James (Jimmy) Rowe, aged in his 40s, died in a road crash which occurred on the N17 during Storm Isha.
Jimmy of No. 10 Slí Na Móna, Ballymahon, Longford, N39 FF98 and Tuam, Co Galway, died after his car veered off the road during powerful winds on Sunday.
The Longford native lived with his partner in Kilcloghans, outside Tuam, where he had been working for a number of years.
Following the tragic news, tributes have poured in for Jimmy, who has been described as a “lovely fella” with the biggest heart.
“Folks, with a heavy heart I bring you the heartbreaking news that our baby brother Jimmy Rowe has loss his life on the roads today. Give your loved ones a hug you never know when it's the last.. love u forever Jimmy,” wrote his brother in tribute.
“I have great memories growing up with jimmy in st matthews park, getting up to mischief. He was a lovely fella and had the biggest heart. Thinking of you all at this very sad time. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Rip Jimmy,” read a tribute.
“My Deepest Sympathies to Catherine, Margaret, Albert, Colm & Caroline and Jimmys children on the very tragic passing of Jimmy. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace. I’m so sorry for your loss. Jimmy was always such a lovely person,” wrote someone else in tribute.
Sadly missed by his loving mother Catherine, partner Bernie, daughters and sons, sisters and brothers, stepfather, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends.
Jimmy will repose this Wednesday, January 24 in Tuam (161 Clochrán, Kilcloghans, Tuam, Co. Galway, H54 C866) from 5 pm to 8 pm.
He will repose on Thursday in Ballymahon (No. 10 Slí Na Móna, N39 FF98) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass is Friday at noon in St. Matthew's Church, Ballymahon. Burial in Shrule Cemetery. The Mass can be streamed here.
