Longford music: Jack is back!

Longford music: Jack is back!

Jack Lukeman (Jack L)

A little over a year ago Jack L played to a packed 3 Arena in Dublin. The Kildare singer was responding to the pent up demand for his live show that built up during the pandemic.

A performer who merges theatre with music Jack Lukeman (affectionately known as Jack L) has a devoted clique of followers. His soothing voice and engaging stage presence has earned him the reputation as one of the country's finest performers.
Prior to the 3 Arena gig Jack toured with Jools Holland and Sting. Since then he has returned to his preferred audience structure, the intimacy of smaller venues.

His latest tour – entitled Echo On 2024 – brings him on a frolic around the regions of Ireland following the smashing success of his latest album 'Echo On'.
Echo On was recorded pre and post the great lockdown of 2020/21. The songs were recorded with a host of musicians from all across the globe.

Jack established himself as a solo artist and songwriter with his memorable live shows and his breakthrough 1999 multi-platinum selling album Metropolis Blue, gaining record deals and touring extensively in the US and Europe.
A few years back Jack and Pat Mc Cabe visited Backstage Theatre when they worked together on the show 'High Lonesome' a collaboration best described as an old-style village hall vaudeville for the future.

Friends and long-time collaborators the two artists had toured the UK, the USA and Ireland in the nineties. That particular show exemplified the singer's inclination towards dramatic performances.
His latest show is more traditional. The highly anticipated tour guarantees an unforgettable kaleidoscope of performances, each radiating with the electrifying energy and raw passion that embody Jack Lukeman’s music.

With a career spanning 25 years, fans can expect a spectacular live performance with Jack L performing his greatest hits alongside live favourites and tracks from his new album Echo On.
Jack Lukeman takes to the Backstage Theatre on Saturday, January 13 at 8pm. Tickets costing €29 are available from the Backstage box office.
