Sadness following death of Longford man in New York

Sadness following death of Longford man in New York

The late Eamon Keegan: June 27,1944 - October 24, 2023.

Late Eamon ‘Edward’ Keegan, Colehill, Longford: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eamon ‘Edward’ Keegan of Taghshinny, Colehill, County Longford.

Eamon was predeceased by his parents Annie and Ned Keegan and also his three brothers Kevin, Vincent and Patrick.
Eamon leaves behind his son Eamon and daughter Siobhan (Tim) Delles along with their mom Kathleen. He is also survived by his four sisters Olive, Bernadette, Josephine and Nancy.

Eamon came to New York on November 5, 1965 with his sister Olive. He lived in New York City, Dobbs Ferry NY and finally settled with his family in Alpharetta, Georgia. He retired two years ago after years of owning his beloved landscaping business.

Eamon was quite the character and he definitely had the “gift of the gab”. Eamon loved chatting, whether it was with his friends or a stranger at his local grocery shops. He was a loyal New York Mets fan. He loved to cook, talk politics and had a love of history and we can’t forget his love of a little bet on a horse. Always a winner!

A memorial mass in Eamon’s honour will be planned at a later date in New York. We will never forget the good memories with Eamon and will keep those memories and laughs with him forever in our hearts.
