Full schedule of events revealed for Longford’s Dead of Night Halloween Festival

The full schedule of listings for Longford’s Dead of Night Halloween Festival 2023 is now available, with an expanded five-day offering, that is bigger and better than ever before.

Starting on Friday, October 27 and running until Tuesday, October 31 (Halloween night), this year's Dead of Night Festival will also feature a spectacular Fire and Shadows Procession and finale courtesy of Waterford’s street carnival specialists Spraoi, in association with Fáilte Ireland, Milestone Inventive and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

This year, there will be something for all the family to enjoy, from spooky haunted house experiences to pumpkin patch picking and from arts and crafts, to climbing and archery – all nestled safely in the grounds of Connolly Barracks.

Full details of the schedule of events can be found on Longfordcoco.ie under the dedicated Halloween section or by checking out Longfordcoco on social media.

The Longford Local Enterprise Office is also getting local businesses involved in the festivities, by sponsoring the prize for the “Wicked Windows” Best Window Display competition, which will be judged on Friday, October 27.

Head of Local Enterprise Office, Longford Michael Nevin said, “I’m encouraging all businesses to get decorating, in the most creative and sustainable way possible, to add to the wonderful atmosphere in Longford town in the run up to the Dead of Night Festival.”

The Dead of Night Festival is a Night-Time Economy initiative brought to you in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

The event is also part of a campaign by Longford County Council, Longford Local Community Safety Partnership, An Garda Síochána and the Longford County Council Fire Service to create a frightful and fun Halloween, free from anti-social behaviour, illegal fireworks and bonfires.
