A man accused of possession and distribution of child pornography will return before Longford District Court in November.

The defendant is facing a charge that on April 7 and April 20, 2022 at his home address he did knowingly have in his possession child pornography, three images and seven videos of child pornography as defined by the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act.

The defendant is also charged with two counts of knowingly distributing child pornography on the same dates.

Judge Bernadette Owens held the matter in camera, meaning the defendant cannot be named in reports until the matter is concluded.

Sergeant Mark Mahon said the DPP was seeking to have all four charges dealt with by trial on indictment.

Judge Owens indicated that she would adjourn the matter to November 14.
