On 7th July 1933 there was a bad storm, it was a very wet and windy night in Edgeworthstown.
That night an acting midwife had to deliver five babies. In those days births took place at home with these homes being situated about 5 or 6 miles apart.
So, on her bike, on a stoney road with perhaps a dull bike lamp she set out to assist these births, successfully.
It was an historic occasion in Take Two recently as family and friends of Maureen Mulryan and Connie O'Ferrall celebrated their 90th birthdays
Fast forward to 2023 and two of these people born on that night Conal O’Ferrall and Maureen Mulryan recently celebrated a double 90th birthday in Take 2 Restaurant, Longford. It is understood that a third, Kieran McCabe lives in America, resulting in 3 out of 5 still living at 90 years of age.

These amazing people have survived two World Wars, three currency changes and five recessions.
Connie O’Ferrall went to the local school in Edgeworthstown and in 1948 he attended college in Roscrea. Co Tipperary. In the 1950s, he inherited the home and farm he was born and reared on. This house has been in his family since it was built in 1640.
He and his wife Rose raised six children there. Being the first man in Edgeworthstown to bottle and sell his own milk from the farm to the local residences, he was known and respected by all. Connie was a valued member of the civil defense from 1968-2018.
He was one of only two people to receive a 50-year long service medal at the time. In 1993 as an early of the member of the genealogical group ‘The Farrell Clan’ and became The Clan Chieftain and still holds this position.
His involvement took him and Rose to Mexico where they where hosted by dignitaries. Throughout their lives, up until Covid, Connie and Rose enjoyed old time waltzing and won many competitions all over the country.
These days, Connie's sight has deteriorated and his mobility is not what it was, but he still keeps up to date with, local and international politics, farming, horse racing and rugby.
