A Longford man accused of using threatening and abusive behaviour at an emergency accommodation centre in the county town was due to appear back in court on Tuesday where “other matters” were set to be heard.

Gary Gilchriest (52) St Martha’s Hostel, Dublin Road, Longford entered a guilty plea at last week’s sitting of Longford District Court to the aforementioned offence and of being found drunk in public at the above mentioned address on November 19, 2022.

Upon entering a guilty plea on his client’s behalf, John Quinn, defending, said he was unaware there were “other matters” pending, adding he was “getting a drip feed” as to what they were.

Judge Bernadette Owens remanded Mr Gilchriest on continuing bail to a sitting of Longford District Court on July 25.
