Man involved in alleged Longford shop brawl remanded on bail

A Longford man charged in connection to a violent brawl inside a shop in Longford town has been remanded on continuing bail.

Nineteen-year-old Toluwalope Onayemi, 31 Kilglass, Gleann Riada, Strokestown Road, Longford was in court last Tuesday to face two charges arising from an incident at Spar, 11 Main Street, Longford on April 21.

He was charged with using threatening and abusive behaviour and criminal damage to protective glass at the store's ice cream counter.

The latter incident allegedly resulted in €200 worth of damage being caused.

Mr Onayemi, who was represented by local solicitor Fiona Baxter did not speak or address the court during last week's hearing.
The case was ultimately adjourned to September 5 next when Mr Onayemi is expected to enter a plea to the said incident.
