Consumer group issues electric shock warning over replacement charger sold online

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a warning in relation to a laptop replacement charger sold on the Wish platform which may present an electric shock risk.

The product presents this risk as it failed to meet the requirements of the relevant safety standard, the CCPC outlined.

The Wish ID is 5eee327a8ec71047cb780550. The model number is DHM1800.

The brand, the batch number and the barcode are unknown.

The CCPC said given the online availability of this product on the Wish platform, it may have been sold to customers in the Republic of Ireland.

"If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and discard the product. You may wish to contact Wish to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on the Wish platform," the CCPC said.
