Longford Westmeath General Election 2024 updates: Dympna Cunniffe eliminated, Carrigy remains strong.

Dympna Cunniffe the Fianna Fáil candidate

Count 4 results are in and Dympna Cunniffe of Fianna Fáil has been eliminated from the running.

The distribution of Carol Okeke's 474 votes went as follows with Longford candidate Dave Smyth getting a good portion.

Barry CAMPION +14 = 2,364

Tanya CANNON +14 = 626

Micheál CARRIGY  +36 = 7,238

Dymphna CUNNIFFE +11 = 546

Joe FLAHERTY +12 = 5,256

Louise HEAVIN +59 = 1,011

Paul HOGAN +5 = 2,993

Margaret MAGUIRE +5 = 883

Kevin 'Boxer' MORAN +26 = 8,138

Laura O'NEILL +22 = 1,993

Dave SMYTH +41 = 1,009

Robert TROY +37 = 8,371

Gerry WARNOCK +7 = 2,288

Two Longford candidates can still be spotted walking around, Barry Campion and Micheál Carrigy.

With the fourth count done, there has only been one candidate thus far, Peter Burke who has retained his seat in Teachta Dáil.

Troy is still on top of the remaining candidates followed by Moran, Carrigy and Clarke.

Flaherty remains at the back of the main pack.

It’s quiet now in the Athlone Count Centre, many candidates have yet to arrive until later in the day.

Dympna Cunniffe's 526 votes will be distributed in the next count.
