Longford Westmeath General Election 2024 update: Third count update

Carol Okeke has been eliminated in count three

The returning officer for the Longford Westmeath constituency, Brid Concannon, has delivered the details of the distribution of the votes from the three candidates eliminated after the second count.

The votes of Paul Bradley, Donal Jackson and Charlotte Keenan were doled out between the remaining candidates, with Aontú’s Laura O’Neill (+35) and Louise Heavin (+32) getting the largest share.

Kevin Boxer Moran gained 23 votes of the 321 distributed ballots, but there is a long way to go before we get to the next elected representative.

The next round sees the counter go through the votes of the Green Party’s Carol Okeke. The Kinegad candidate’s elimination will see 477 dished out between the remaining 15 candidates.

Longford candidate Micháel Carrigy picked up 5 votes, as did Joe Flaherty and Dave Smith, while Gerry Warnock was the largest beneficiary with his 17 votes.
