Cnoc Mhuire Granard showed great determination in battling back from six points down in the second half to win the Leinster Post-Primary Schools U-14 ‘C’ Football Final with Daire Madden playing a major role in this fine success at the Kilcormac grounds, Co Offaly on Tuesday.

Cnoc Mhuire Granard . . . . 2-10     Heywood Community School (Laois) . . . 2-9

The Gowna lad scored 1-9 for Cnoc Mhuire and also set up substitute Robin Reilly for the second goal which levelled the match in the 48th minute. Laois opponents Heywood Community School edged ahead again in the 49th minute but two more points from Madden (one free) saw the Granard school emerged victorious.
