Although the Longford hurlers are already guaranteed a place in the knockout stage of the National League, there is still an outside chance of making it straight through to the Division 3B title decider.
For that to happen, Longford will need to crush pointless Cavan by a very wide margin in the final round game at Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday (throw-in 12 noon) and hope that Leitrim can come out on top at home to unbeaten Fermanagh in the other fixture this weekend.
If those results materialise then Longford, Leitrim and Fermanagh will be deadlocked on six points apiece with the scores difference rule deciding who will finish top of the table.
The first placed team will qualify for the Division 3B league final while the second and third placed teams will meet in the semi-final.
