On the evidence of the landslide 6-19 to 0-5 win over Moorefield (Kildare) in the first round clash at Manguard Park in Newbridge, the Wexford champions Castletown Liam Mellows will take some stopping in their quest to win the Leinster Club Junior hurling title.
The Longford senior hurling champions Wolfe Tones are clearly facing a daunting task in the provincial quarter-final at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park this Saturday (throw-in 1.30pm) for what appears to be a mission impossible.
Led by their captain and chief marksman Cathal Mullane who fired over 11 points in the county final win over Longford Slashers, the Mostrim club will be doing their best to make some sort of an impact against the strong Wexford junior outfit in this extremely tough task.
After beating Longford Slashers in the county final a couple of months ago (Sunday September 22 to be precise), Wolfe Tones will be rusty for the Leinster fixture against Castletown and will be very hard pressed to make it a competitive match.
