The inter-county attention is now focused on the Longford ladies who are the last team standing and the pressure is on after losing at home to Limerick in Round 1 of the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship a couple of weeks ago.
Pat Tiernan’s side are back in action against Kilkenny in Castlecomer this Sunday (throw-in 3pm) and while a comfortable success will surely materialise, another win is a must at home to Louth in the remaining group fixture on Sunday June 30 to keep alive their hopes of making it through to the semi-finals.
The title favourites Louth are at home to Limerick in the other Group B clash on Sunday at the Stabannon Parnells grounds, throw-in 1pm.
