Clonguish senior footballers Conor Smith and Matthew Flynn were part of the DCU starting team that defeated University of Galway 4-8 to 0-8 in the final of the Freshers 1 Championship at the DCU Sportsground on Wednesday night.
Three goals in the closing stages of the exciting encounter decided the destination of the Freshers Cup and ultimate glory for right-corner-back Smith and left half-forward Flynn as DCU retained the title.
