Gareth Johnston, appointed the joint manager of the Dromard senior football squad this season along with Enda Macken
With Sean Hagan stepping down from the role after guiding his native club to the senior football championship semi-finals in 2022 and 2023, Dromard GAA have appointed Gareth Johnston and Enda Macken as the joint managers this season.
Ratified to join Paddy Christie on the Longford senior management team at a County Board meeting at the end of August, the Rathcline clubman recently decided to quit for what was apparently described as a difference of opinion.
Johnston is an experienced coach and previously managed Longford Minor football teams in 2014 and 2021-22.
A Senior Football Championship winner with his native Dromard in the past, Macken is back for another stint as a member of his club’s management team and the experienced mentor has also coached Mostrim, not forgetting his role as a county senior selector when Denis Connerton took charge for a second time.
