The Longford ladies football squad, under the guidance of new manager Pat Tiernan from the Grattans club, are all set for the start of the 2024 season with a generally youthful squad.

Adding some experience is the return of Slashers star Orla Nevin while other key players  include Grace Shannon (Slashers), Ella O'Reilly (Mullinalaghta) and Sian Gallagher (Ardagh).

Longford warmed up for the league campaign with wins over Cavan and Roscommon in challenge games.

Longford are also facing trips to Kilkenny, Carlow, Limerick and Derry in that order and somehow have to wait until Sunday February 25 for their first home game in the league against Wicklow.

The midlanders remaining match is at home to Leitrim on Sunday March 3 and the top 4 teams will qualify for the semi-finals on Sunday March 24 with the title decider scheduled for Saturday April 6.
