Showing a lot of character and spirit, Kenagh came storming back from five points down (0-12 to 0-7) at one stage in the second half to eventually come out on top against Fr Manning Gaels in the entertaining Intermediate Football Championship Round 6 clash at the splendid Killashee grounds on Sunday.

Kenagh . . . 1-13   Fr Manning Gaels . . . 0-13

Young Ollie Manser scored the crucial goal in the 42nd minute and wind assisted Kenagh dominated the remainder of the match in beating the already qualified Drumlish/Ballinamuck side who were without injured key forwards Conor Keenan and Martin Cassidy.

By virtue of this result, Kenagh are now through to the semi-finals along with the Gaels and Sean Connolly’s and they will be joined in the last four by the winners of the Cashel v St Brigid’s Killashee Round 7 game.

Should this last round group fixture happen to finish in a draw then Ardagh Moydow can reach the semi-finals on the head-to-head regulation (over Cashel) in a must win match against Kenagh in a couple of weeks time.
