Ardagh Moydow claimed their first win in the 2023 Intermediate Football Championship with a 3 point win over Cashel at Leo Casey Park, Ballymahon on Sunday.

Ardagh Moydow . . . 2-13     Cashel . . . 3-7

In repeat circumstances, Ardagh Moydow beat Cashel last year by the same margin in the same ground and that dented Damien Rooney’s sides chances of reaching the knockout stage. Once again, Ardagh/Moydow’s victory leaves Cashel in a dangerous place of missing out on the semi-finals.

Ardagh Moydow were in steady control throughout the contest and led by 0-10 to 1-5 at the break.

While Cashel’s appetite for goals made sure the game always remained competitive, Nicholas Farrell’s side were assured on their way to victory with Aaron McTiernan and Dylan Fay scoring the crucial goals in the second half.
