The title holders Colmcille bounced back from their eight-point opening round defeat against Killoe Emmet Óg with a hard fought win over Carrickedmond in the Senior Football Championship Group 2 Round 2 clash at Maguire Park in Ballinalee on Saturday evening.

Trailing by four points with fifteen minutes remaining after a brilliant goal from Carrickedmond’s Liam Glennon and a fine point from Sean Kelly, Colmcille produced a superb finish to rattle off 1-4 without reply to escape to victory with Shaun McKeon scoring the crucial goal in the 54th minute.
Carrickedmond led by a point at the break, 2-3 to 1-5, thanks to goals from Kyle Kenny and Shane McGoey (direct from a free), but Colmcille gradually got their act together in the final quarter of the contest to come out on top.
