The start of the 2023 National Leagues is fastly approaching and the first Longford team in action are the ladies, under new manager Alan Mullen from Westmeath, who are away to Louth in the Division 3 Round 1 clash in Drogheda on Sunday January 22.
Former Dublin All Star defender Paddy Christie, in his first season in charge of the Longford senior football squad, is preparing the players for the first fixture in the Division 3 league against Fermanagh at Brewster Park in Enniskillen on Saturday January 28, throw-in 6pm.
Adrian Moran from Westmeath is back as the boss of the Longford senior hurling squad and their opening game in Division 3B is against neighbouring rivals Cavan at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Saturday February 4.
