PICTURES: Waterways Ireland is selling off abandoned boats in Midlands for bargain prices

Waterways Ireland is selling a number of boats which it has removed from canals and rivers across Ireland

Waterways Ireland is auctioning a number of boats which it has removed from canals and rivers.  The majority of the boats are being stored in the Midlands where they can be viewed prior to the sale. Waterways Ireland said 16 of the vessels are presently stored at Shannon Harbour, Co Offaly.

“All vessels may be inspected (externally only) between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, March 2,” Waterways Ireland stated. 

Interested buyers can download tender documents from Waterways Ireland's website or contact the  Inspectorate office, Waterways Ireland, Harbour Street, Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Phone 057-9325019.

The deadline for sealed offers for the boats is 12 noon on Friday, March 15, 2024 and only postal submissions will be accepted. 

“A condition of sale is that vessels be removed from Waterways Ireland Property once purchased,” Waterways Ireland added.
