The annual Irish Hereford Breeders society show and sale was held in GVM, KIlmallock recently, with a top price on the day of €3,850.

There was flying trade all round, with an 85% clearance rate and an average price of €2,485. Three of the five bulls missed were the youngest present at the sale. The Reserve champion of the show and sale went to Trillick Kracker, a July born bull from the herd of JJ Farrell, Longford.

JJ Farrell is no stranger to winning prizes at Kilmallock and Trillick Kracker was sired by his stock bull, UK-bred Clipston Squire S10. Out of Killoe Pam, a Churchill storm daughter, he eventually sold for a price of €3,300.
