The young talent in Longford will be showcased this weekend as the Shawbrook Youth Company prepares to stage HOME.
Devised and performed by a cast of 22 young performers, HOME takes you on a journey, deep into the forest, into a very divided world.
Presented through live-music, singing, dance and stunning visual design, HOME is an explosion of creativity and physicality and imagination. Not to be missed.
HOME takes place on Saturday April 15, 7.30pm at Shawbrook, Legan. The event is free.
The HOME Project is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and Creative Longford. Visit www.shawbrook.org for information and directions.
HOME is the first performance project as Shawbrook Youth Company, inaugurated to expand, connect and collaborate with young people from across the creative arts, including music, film, spoken-word, theatre, visual arts and dance.
Established first as a Youth Dance Company in 2002 by Artistic Director Anica Louw, to create a professional working environment for young dancers, SYD have performed in theatres, street-theatre, Glastonbury Festival, Burning Man, Nevada, Electric Picnic, International Youth Arts Festival, Prague, and site-specific work including the Forest Safari at Shawbrook in May last year.
Shawbrook Youth Company is part of our annual programme.
