The death occurred, peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Thursday, December 15, 2022 of Evelyn Haughey (nee O'Brien), ‘Villa Pio’, Templemichael Glebe, Longford town. Predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick. Evelyn will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Deirdre Dalton, Anne-marie, Maeve and Martina Connolly, son Paul, sons-in-law Kieran and Bernie, sister Madge (Mamie), grandchildren Karla (and her husband Cormac), Sophie and Andrew, great-grandchildren Mia, Ben and Hugo, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral home, Ballinalee Road on Sunday, December 18 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, December 19 in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. The mass will be streamed live please go to www.longfordparish.com. John Quinn, Castle Park and late of Drimure, Newtownforbes, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Our Lady’s Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 of John Quinn, Castlepark, Newtownforbes and formerly of Drimure, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Paddy Joe and Margaret, brothers Joe (Cork), Michael (Drimure) and infant Denis by his infant sister Margaret and by his beloved wife Eileen.
John will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his sisters Chrissie McCormack (Ballymahon), Mary Long (Drumcondra, Dublin) and Margaret Hughes (Killoe), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Our Lady’s Manor, Edgeworthstown on Friday, December 16 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. John’s funeral cortege will leave his residence in Castle Park on Saturday, December 17 at 1.40pm to arrive for Mass of the Resurrection In St. Mary's Church, Newtownforbes at 2pm. Interment afterwards in Newtownforbes cemetery. Beloved husband of the late Margaret and much loved father of Mary, Jimmy, Niall, Vincent and Terry. The death occurred, suddenly but peacefully at home, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 of Ayshea Ryan, Canal Close, Longford Town, Longford. Ayshea is back in the arms of her dear father Martin. Ayshea will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her devoted daughter Paige, beloved mother Noley, dear sister Denise, dear partner Gerard, son-in-law Jason, nieces Faith and Keeva, brother-in-law Trevor, relatives and a wide circle of friends. The death occurred, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 of Aidan Corkery, Ballymakeegan, Longford Town, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Catherine, sisters Molly, Kathleen, Celine, Veronica and Lily-Mae, brothers Fr John, Simon and Patrick and extended family.

Doreen Waldron (née Durkan), Athenry, Galway / Ballymacormack, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully at Brampton Nursing Home, Oranmore, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 of Doreen Waldron nee Durkan, Farnagh Hill, Longford and formerly of Ballyhaunis, Castlerea and Athenry. Predeceased by her husband Tom and daughter in-law Rosemary. Sadly missed by her loving family, son John (Dublin), daughters Carmel (Castleturvin, Athenry), Margaret (Bangor, Co.Down), son in-law Joe, grandchildren Fergus, Clare, Erin, Jonathon, Clodagh and Mark, great grandchildren, sister in-law, niece, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Michael (Micky) McGahern, Cordownan, Arva, Co Cavan


The death occurred, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 of Michael (Micky) McGahern, Cordownan, Arva, Co Cavan.
Predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Kathy), his parents James and Bridget, his brother Sean and his sisters Kathleen and Tess. Michael will be very sadly missed by his loving family, sons, Sean (Wanda), Seamus (Sinead), Kevin (Carole), and Gerard (Sinead), daughter's Collette (Robert), Joan (Paul), Eithne and Annette. Also by his sisters- in law Mary O Brien (New York) and Sally Mc Gahern (UK), brother in law Paddy Reilly (UK), his 13 adored grandchildren, all his relations and many friends. May he Rest In Peace.
Michael will repose at his home in Cordownan on Thursday, December 15. The funeral cortege will leave the house on Friday morning, December 16 at 11.45am and will travel to the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Coronea, arriving for funeral Mass at 12 noon. The death occurred, peacefully following a brief illness bravely borne, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 of Tom Donlon, Moher, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by his loving wife Theresa. The death occurred, peacefully in her 87th year, in the loving care of the staff at the North West Hospice, Sligo, on Thursday, December 15, 2022 of Marie Ward (nee Wynne), Derrybrack, Annaduff, Co Leitrim. Beloved wife of the late PJ and dear mother of Maeve, Michael, Doreen (Martin) and Ronan (Brenda), nephew Paraic, her adored grandchildren Shona, Jason, Rhianna, Sophie and Sadie, relatives, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her beloved son Michael, her parents Joseph and Ellen Flanagan and brothers Daniel and Johnny. Beloved mother of Andrew (Manchester) and Helen McGuire (Geesala). She will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family – Frank (Andy), son in law Brendan, grandchildren Cameron, Megan, Michael, Éire, Thomas, Caitlin and Patrick, nephew John, grandniece Catherine, sisters in law, brother in law, relatives, neighbours and friends. Fr James Kane, Multyfarnham, Westmeath


The death occurred, peacefully, at Orange Health Service Hospital, in his 63rd year as a priest, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 of Fr James Kane, late of Mornington, Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath and Bathurst Diocese, NSW, Australia. Predeceased by his parents Pat and Margaret (née O’Neill), his brother Christy and his sister Philomena Aylward.
Sadly missed by his loving family, nieces and nephews, Margaret, Paddy, Helen, Mary, Katie, Christine, Patricia, Christopher, Phil and Edel, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grand nephews, great-grand niece, relatives, Bishop Michael McKenna, his fellow priests, many friends and especially the many people in Orange and Molong parishes.
