The recent death has occurred peacefully in the loving care of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, in her 96th year on Monday, November 24, 2025 of Margaret (Maggie) Reilly Rossduff, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford.

Maggie is Predeceased by her parents Charlie and Margaret, brothers Charlie and Felix, her sisters Bridgie and Annie. Sadly missed by her brother John, nephews and nieces, relatives, neighbours and all her dear friends.We would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Laurel Lodge for the loving care they gave Maggie.

The death occurred peacefully in his home on Saturday, November 22, 2025 of Ben Smyth No 4 Ardnacassa, Longford.

Ben will be sadly missed by his loving family, wife Ann, Newbrook Nursing Home, Mullingar, sons Bernard and Derek, daughter-in-law Denise, son-in-law Brendan Kelly, his adored granddaughters Danielle, Victoria and Rachel, grandsons Brenard, Shane and Derek, sisters Helen, and Kay, brother Fred, neighbours and friends. Reposing on Wednesday, November 26 from 11.30am until 12.30pm in Connells Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN666. Followed by removal to Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Rd, Cavan for a Cremation Service at 2pm.

Kevin James Harkin, Tooman, Bornacoola, Leitrim / Longford

The death occurred on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 of Kevin James Harkin, born in Dublin to the late Hugh and Julia Harkin, Kevin resided in Tooman, Co Leitrim and was formerly of Lower Peover, Cheshire, England. 

Predeceased by his parents and his brother Cathal. Kevin will be sadly missed by his loving family, sister Maureen Lewis, brother Anthony and his partner Paloma Allen, nieces Catherine Lewis, Holly Harkin, Phoebe Harlin and Milly Harkin, nephew Laurence Lewis, neighbours and his many dear friends here in Ireland and England.

The death occurred peacefully, in the exceptional care of Kilcoole Lodge Nursing Home on Sunday, November 23, 2025 of Patrick Ralph of Bray, Leopardstown, Athlone, Newtownforbes and formerly of ESB.

Beloved husband and best friend of the late Martina for over 60 years, much loved father of John, Patrick, Vincent, David, Amanda, Georgina, Rachelle and Isabel, father-in-law of Maureen, Inji, Linda, Chris, Sean and Jim, cherished grandfather of Jordan and Jamie, Sequoia and Tenaya, Paul, Jim and David, Finn and Eve, Jade, Jim and Brendan, brother of the late Fr. John, William J., Annie and Mary and brother-in-law of Rina O’Rahilly and the late Imelda Flanagan and Jacqueline McGreal; he will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives and friends.

The death occurred peacefully, in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and care staff in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Saturday, November 22, 2025 of Sr Eileen McGarry, Convent of Mercy, St Joseph’s Road, Longford town and formerly of Bornacoola, Leitrim.

Predeceased by her parents James and Mae McGarry, sister Gertrude and brothers Mícheál and John Joe. Lovingly remembered by her sister Sr. Maura Bríd, sister- in -law Anne, nephews Fiachra and Shane, niece Muireann, grandnephew Oscar, grandnieces Aoife and Úna, relatives, friends, teaching colleagues and the Sisters of Mercy Western Branch. May she rest in peace.

Reposing in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel (N39 XE92) on Monday, November 24 from 3.30pm concluding with prayers at 5pm. Removal from the Convent of Mercy, St Joseph’s Road, Longford on Tuesday November 25 to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral, for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.00am. Burial afterwards in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Ardagh. Longford. ‘Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis’. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE. 

Kathleen Canning, formerly of Rinnagowna, Dromod, Leitrim / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in her 101st year, surrounded by her loving family and in the excellent care of the staff of The Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, Rooskey on Friday, November 21, 2025 of Kathleen Canning formerly of Rinnagowna, Dromod, Leitrim/ Longford.

Predeceased by her husband Ambrose, brother Michael and sister Mary. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her loving family, son Des, daughter-in- law Theresa, grandson Aaron and wife Theresa, granddaughter Amy, great grand-daughter Filippa, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, good friends and neighbours. Michael (Mickey) Brady, Esker, Ballinalee, Co Longford

The recent death has occurred peacefully surrounded by his family in Mullingar Regional Hospital in his 93rd year on Saturday, November 22, 2025 of Michael (Mickey) Brady, Esker, Ballinalee, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by his wife Anna Mae, daughter Mary Lynch, grandson Paul, parents, sisters Margaret, Teresa, Elizabeth, Kathleen and his triplet sisters who died in infancy.

Michael will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by his family, son Padraig, daughters Geraldine McGowan (Mohill) and Martina Halton (Mullahoran), daughter-in-law Patricia, sons-in-law Johnny Lynch, Francis McGowan and Con Halton, his adored grandchildren John, Jason, Aisling, Emer, Stephen, David, Deirdre, Shane, Sinéad, Ronán, Ciarán, Mark and Dáire also his great- grandchildren Robbie, Cara, Lucy, Jack and Evan, nephews, nieces, relatives and his wonderful neighbours and dear friends. Reposed in Connell Funeral Home, Church St, Longford N39 KN66 on Sunday, November 23 from 2.30pm concluding with prayers at 5pm. Removal on Monday, November 24 from his son and daughter-in-law Padraig and Patricia's home to St Mary's Church, Ennybegs N39 AH01 for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following mass, Michael will be laid to rest in the family plot in Aughaboy Cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff at The Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, Rooskey on Saturday, November 22, 2025 of Mary Joe Dennigan (nee Doyle) Tomiskey, Rooskey, Dromod, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by her husband Tony, siblings Liz, Bridie, Eddie, Johnny, Mikie and Bernie. She will be very sadly missed by her niece Mary, nephew Tom Coughlan, nieces-in-law Janet and Patricia, nephew-in-law Paul, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Mary Joe Rest in Peace.

Mary Joe will repose in St Michael’s Church, Bornacoola on Tuesday, November 25 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 26 at 11am in St Michael’s Church, Bornacoola followed by burial in Cloonmorris cemetery.

The death occurred suddenly at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin on Friday, November 21, 2025 of Rev Fr Pat Reilly, 13 Seaview, Portrane, Co Dublin and formerly Springtown, Granard, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by his parents Phil and Mary, sisters Betty and Maureen and sister in law Angela. Sadly missed by his brother Phil (Maureen) nieces Elaine (Donal), Una (Mike) Claire (New York) and nephews Liam (Marian) and Sean Marren, (New York) , grand-nieces, grand-nephews, his many loyal friends and parishioners in Donabate and Portrane. The death occurred in his 92nd year, unexpectedly but peacefully at his residence on Friday, November 21, 2025 of Peter (Pee) McHugh, (Hurley Hill), Annaghbrennan, Cloone, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his loving wife Breda, his parents Michael and Ellen McHugh, his brother Sean, sisters Lizzie (Quinn), Maggie (Cunningham) and Moira (Tiernan).

Pee will be sadly missed by his loving and heartbroken children Angela Cunningham (Eamonn), Michael (Jennifer), Deirdre McNulty (Ciarán), Derek (Karen), Enda (Rachelle) and Helen Nic Aodha (Andrea Palandri) along with his twenty three adored grandchildren Peter, Maria, Michael, Isobel, Frank, Adrienne, Edwina, Mark, Heidi, Robyn, Sonny, Cian, Noah, Ultán, Mischa, Muireann, Turlough, Síomha, Kody, Lily, Bríd, Sadhbh and Eorann.

Fondly remembered by his beloved nieces, nephews and cousins whom he remained so close to, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well his many relatives, neighbours, his large circle of friends and his wonderful carers who looked after him so well at home. May Pee Rest in Peace.

Pee’s remains will repose in St Mary’s Church Cloone on Monday, November 24 from 6pm to 8pm, followed by prayers at 8.15pm. The death occurred peacefully at Arus Carolan Nursing Home, Mohill surrounded by her loving family following an illness bravely borne on Friday, November 21, 2025 of Teresa O’Neill, Gortletteragh, Mohill, Co. Leitrim. 

Predeceased by her parents; Francis and Bea, her brother; Francie Jnr. and her sisters; Olivia and recently deceased; Josephine.
