Mary McCormack, (née Lennon), Bawn T5, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her heartbroken family in the Lisdarn Unit, Cavan on Saturday, June 14, 2025 of Mary McCormack (née Lennon), Bawn T5, Longford and formerly of Cruckalissa, Killoe, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents James and Bridget, sister Patricia and brother-in-law Terry. Mary will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by her family, her husband and best friend Tommy, her cherished children Joe, Stephen and Trisha, daughter-in-law Edel, her adored grandchildren Páidí and Erin, brothers Jimmy and Michael, sister Theresa, brothers-in-law Jimmy McCormack, Theresa's partner Mike, sisters-in-law Mary and Josie (McCormack), Roisin and Mary (Lennon) and Sarah McCormack, nephews, nieces, relatives and her wonderful neighbours and friends.

Your life was love and labour, Your love for your family true, You did your best for all of us, We will always remember you. May your Gentle Soul Rest in Peace Mary.

Mary will repose in Connell's Funeral Home, Church St, Longford N39 KN66 on Monday, June 16 from 5pm until 9pm. Removal from her home on Tuesday, June 17 to arrive to St Mary's Church, Ennybegs, N39 AH01 for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Following Mass, Mary will be laid to rest in Aughaboy Cemetery. In keeping with Mary's wishes the family have requested that everyone attending, wear bright colours in celebration of Mary's life. Frances Farrell, Toneen, Moydow, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown on Sunday, June 15, 2025 of Frances Farrell, Toneen, Moydow, Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents Peter and Bridie, sister Maureen, brother Peter (Poundy), sister-in-law Theresa Farrell, brothers-in-law John Connell and Connie Lee, nephew Glen Lee and her uncle Seamus Finn. Frances will be forever remembered with love by her family, her dear sister Teresa, her cherished niece and nephews Mary Farrell, Noel (Pamela) and Alan (Lisa) Lee, grandnieces and grandnephew, relatives, her wonderful neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Tuesday, June 17 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 18 at 12.30pm in St Mary's Church, Moydow. Following Mass, Frances will be laid to rest in the family plot in Moydow Cemetery. Margaret Horan (née Donohoe), 1 Church View Drive, Drumlish, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the exceptional care of the staff of Padre Pio Ward of St. Joseph’s Care Centre, Longford on Friday, June 13, 2025 of Margaret Horan (née Donohoe), Church View Drive, Drumlish Co. Longford and formerly Aughamore Lower and London. 

Predeceased by her husband Paddy, parents John and Margaret and brother Jimmy. Margaret will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her loving family, John (Jacqui), Caroline (Sean) and Paul (Anne Marie), her cherished grandchildren Sean, Shauna, Kieran, Michaela, Shane, Conor and Clodagh, sisters Maureen O’Toole and Anna Rose, brother John Joe (Maryrose), sisters-in-law, Ann and Mary, brothers-in-law Jim and Tom, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, many good friends and neighbours.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Regional Hospital Mullingar and in the presence of her loving family on Thursday, June 12, 2025 of Attracta Murray (nee Delamere) Corrydonlon, Rathowen, Westmeath/ Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents William and Mary and grandson John. Sadly missed by her loving family husband Pat, daughter Ann (Scally), sons Tom, Brendan, Mel and Noel, grandchildren Nathan, Aaron, Evan, Sean, Claire, Eoin, Molly and Ethan, sister Lucy, son-in-law Christy, daughters-in-law Lydia, Teresa and Cecelia, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred peacefully, in the loving care of her family and the staff of Abbey Haven Nursing Home, Boyle on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 of Patricia (Pat) Gilroy Cortober, Carrick on Shannon, Co Roscommon and formerly of Creggs, Co Galway.

Patricia (Pat), predeceased by her husband Gerry, parents Brian and Winnie, sisters and brothers. Deeply regretted by her son Gerry (Drumsna), daughters Theresa (Kilnagross) and Anne (Knockvicar), sister Sr. Winifred, daughter-in-law Elvira, sons-in-law Ciaran and Cathal, her grandchildren Kealan, Katie (Australia), Kelly, Ryan, Anthony, Megan, Charlie, Mathew, Eimhear, her great-grandchildren Fin, Oliver, Amelia, Oisin, Darcy, Isobelle, Sophia, Shae, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends. Patricia reposed on Sunday, June 15 from 3:30pm until 6pm at the Patrician Hall, Cortober, Carrick on Shannon followed by removal to St. Michael’s Church, Drumlion arriving at 7pm. Funeral mass on Monday, June 16 at 12 noon followed by burial afterwards to Jamestown Cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully in his 90th year in the tender care of the staff at Arus Carolan Nursing Home, Mohill surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 15, 2025 of Leo McNulty, Gowel, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.

Pre-deceased by his parents John and Mary, brothers Francis and Vincent, sister Mary. The death occurred peacefully at St. Patrick’s Hospital Carrick-on-Shannon surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 14, 2025  of Noel Beirne, 5 Errill, Shannon Court, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim and formerly Drumsna, Leitrim / Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon. 

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Mary. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, wife Stephanie, son Gary and daughter Tracy, daughter-in-law Donna, son-in-law Niall, adored grandchildren Dillon, Mia and Amy, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully at home on Thursday, June 12, 2025  of Chris (Christy) Powell, Glasson Village, Athlone, Co. Westmeath (Retired Company Sergeant, Military Police, Custume Barracks, Athlone).

Predeceased by his sons James, Richard and Edward (Eddie). Sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, daughters Marie, Ellen, Anne, Patricia and Olivia, sons Christopher and Michael, brother Hugh, in-laws, his adoring grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Michael Patrick Nugent, Hall Green, Birmingham, and formerly, Rooskey, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully aged 86 years on Thursday, May 29, 2025 of Michael Patrick Nugent of Hall Green, Birmingham, and formerly of Rooskey, Co Roscommon, Ireland.

Predeceased by his sister Mary, brother William, and son-in-law Rob. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Bridie; his daughters, Julie and Denise; his son-in-law, Damian; and his beloved grandchildren, Lily, Isabelle, Iris, and James. Also deeply missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and all of his extended family.

A Requiem Mass will take place at St Ambrose Barlow Church, Hall Green, on Thursday, June 19 at 12:15pm. This will be followed by burial at Robin Hood Cemetery at 1:45pm. Reception into church will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 7pm. It will be live streamed HERE.
