Maureen Gill (née Nolan), 12 Devine Crescent, Edgeworthstown, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in wonderful care of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford in her 94th year, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 30, 2025 of Maureen Gill (née Nolan), 12 Devine Crescent, Edgeworthstown, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy and son Ray. Maureen will be forever missed by her heartbroken children Seamus, Tom, Paul, Dolores, Declan, Dermot and Tony. Also her grandchildren Shane, Gary, Sarah, Shannon, Ryan, Aaron, Dani, Darragh, Clodagh, Jade and Luke, daughters-in-law and partners, her brother-in-law Sean and his wife Liz, her nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at St Mary's Church, Edgeworthstown (N39 E628) on Sunday, June 1 from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from her residence on Monday, June 2 to arrive for Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, Edgeworthstown at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Aughafin Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Pat (Packie) Brady, Kiltyclough, Ballinalee, Longford, N39XN29

The recent death has occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Mullingar in his 94th year on Thursday, May 29, 2025 of Pat (Packie) Brady, Kiltyclough, Ballinalee, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by his loving wife Joan, his five brothers, and three sisters. Deeply regretted by his loving family, son Liam (Lucy), daughters Teresa (Michael), Trish (Declan), Ita (Mark) and Geraldine (Paul). His sisters Sr. Bridgie and Sr. Marina (Marist Sisters). His sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his residence N39XN29 on Sunday, June 1 from 3pm to 8pm. The family will take a break from 5.30 - 5.45. Funeral mass on Monday, June 2 at 12 noon in Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee with burial afterwards in St Emer's Cemetery, Ballinalee.

John Joseph Lynch, Annaduff Glebe, Drumsna, Leitrim / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff at Lough Erril Nursing Home, surrounded by his heartbroken family on Thursday, May 29, 2025 of John Joseph Lynch, Annaduff Glebe, Drumsna, Leitrim / Longford. 

Predeceased by his parents, Patrick & Catherine; his sister, June Mather (South Africa); his brother, Laurence (Larry); and brother-in-law, Tony Donlon (Longford). John Joe will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family; his devoted sister, May Donlon (Longford); nephews, Mark Donlon (Longford) and Joseph Mather (South Africa); his nieces, Niamh Donlon (Longford), June Donlon (Longford), Nadia Mather (Cork) & Zara Mather (South Africa); his cherished Longford grand-nieces and nephews, Kate, Jill, Grace, Luke Mathew, Finn, Conor, Gavin & Abigail; nephews-in-law, Joe Flaherty & Peter Columb (Longford) & niece-in-law, Deirdre Donlon (Longford); relatives, neighbours and his many loyal friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Lough Erril Nursing Home (N41 XE39) on Sunday, June 1 from 4pm until 6pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, June 2 at 11am in church of the Immaculate Conception Drumsna followed by private cremation. John Joe’s family would like to thank the staff of Lough Erril Nursing Home and his many friends and neighbours who were such a comfort and support to him over the last number of months. It was greatly appreciated.

James (Jim) Browne, Ballyglass, Lanesboro, Roscommon / Colehill, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, in the wonderful care of Sonas Innis Ree Nursing Home, Ballyleague, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 of James (Jim) Browne, Ballyglass, Lanesboro, Roscommon and formerly, Kilcurry, Colehill, Co Longford and Coventry, UK.  

Predeceased by his recently departed wife and best friend, Phil, his parents Joe and Agnes Browne, sisters Martha Glennon (Ballyleague), Anne Thompson (Isle of Man), Vonnie Devine, Delia Shannon, brother Joe Browne (Coventry) and son in law Michael Kelly.

Jim will be forever missed by his heartbroken daughters, Helen (Kelly), Teresa (Ormsby), sons, Joseph and Declan, son in law Steve and daughter in law Patricia, his adored grandchildren, Rebecca and Ruth Kelly, Stephen, Siobhan, Aisling and Liam Ormsby, Katie and James Browne; his great grandchildren Lottie and Tommy Ormsby and Éala and Seán Óg Grimes; his sisters, Doreen Kearney and Kathleen Dardis (Ballymahon), brothers, Paddy and Peter (Coventry), brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. May Jim Rest in Peace.

Reposing at his residence Ballyglass, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon (N39 KN34) on Friday, May 30 from 6pm to 9pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 31 at 12 noon in The Church of the Holy Rosary, Ballyleague (N39 HV52) followed by burial in Cloontuskert Cemetery. Andrew Lowry, Glack, Longford town, Co Longford, N39 H2F1

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 of Andrew Lowry, Glack, Longford town. 

Pre-deceased by his parents Martin and Bridie. Andrew will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Linda, cherished children Caitlin and Philip, sisters Mary, Sheila, Patricia, Bríd, Helen and Mairead, brothers John, Martin, James and Patrick, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, work colleagues and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his residence in Glack (N39 H2F1) on Sunday, June 1 from 3pm until 6pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, June 2 at 11am in St Mel’s Cathedral, followed by private cremation.

The death occurred peacefully at home on Friday, May 30, 2025 of Yolana Tarkovych, Dromod, Co Leitrim and her beloved home at: 17 Lesi Ukrainky Street, Pidvynohradiv Village, Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine. A woman and Mother of immense strength, deep love, and unwavering spirit, Yolana leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and inspiration. Though her journey in life took many paths, her heart remained a source of light, faith, and love for her family.

Reunited in eternity with her devoted husband, Ivan, and beloved daughter, Inna, whose love remains everlasting.

Deeply mourned by her loving children Pavlo, Ivan, and Tatiana; grandchildren Ivan, Stanislav and his wife Natalya, Anastasia, Leonardo, Beatris, and Eleonora; son-in-law Ivan, daughter-in-law Diana; brother Yura and Ivan sisters in Ukraine Anna, Maria, and Nadia; nieces Edina and Yevheniia, and all her extended family and friends. Her breath lives in your happiness. Her love lives in your home. Her memory will always guide us. May Yolana's gentle soul rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of Virginia health care Centre on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 of Charles Harte, Forge Brooke, Ballinagh, Co Cavan and late of Drumrooske, Ballinagh, Co Cavan. 

Sadly missed by his loving sisters Carmel and Josephine, brother in law Peter, nieces Catherine and Una, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Friday, May 30 from 4pm until prayers at 5.30pm. Removal from Lakelands Funeral Home on Saturday morning, May 31 at 10.30am to St Michael’s Church, Potahee, to arrive for 11am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. May He Rest In Peace.

Gerry McGovern, Annaghmacooleen, Cloone, Co Leitrim

The deaths occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Sligo University Hospital on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 of Gerry McGovern, Annaghmacooleen, Cloone, Co Leitrim.

Gerry will be sadly missed by his loving wife Kathleen, his sons Ciaran and Gavin and his daughter Jacinta, daughters in law Alison and Sarah, Jacinta’s partner Daniel, his adored grandchildren Dara, Jack, Rosie and Mike, brothers Fr Ciaran (Newtownforbes, Co Longford) and Joe (Dublin) sister in law Geraldine, nephews Ronan, Conor and Kieran, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends in the GAA community.

Gerry will repose at Smiths Funeral Home, High St Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim (N41 TD62) on Friday, May 30 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7.45pm. Mass of the Resurrection in St Marys Church Cloone, Co Leitrim on Saturday, May 31 at 12 noon followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

John Caulfield, Longford

The death occurred in London, England aged 90 on Saturday, April 26, 2025 of John Caulfield, native of County Longford.A great Gaelic footballer he played for Colmcille in the 50’s and 60’s as well as for the County team and played for Erin’s Hope and St Vincent’s in London and had strong connections with the Round Towers.

His funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 4 at the Holy Ghost Church, Nightingale Lane Balham at 10.30 with Funeral afterwards at Morden Cemetery. Please pray for his soul.

Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Rooskey, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully  in the presence of her loving family after an unexpected short illness, under the excellent care of the ICU staff at King’s College Hospital London on Friday, April 18, 2025 of Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Sevenoaks, Kent, UK and formerly Rooskey, Roscommon. 

Beloved wife of Alan and dear mother of Michelle and Chris, step-mother to David, sister to Seamus Dooner and cherished nana to Oliver, Daniel and Emily. Pat will also be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law and son-in-law and her dear cousins and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. May Pat rest in peace.

Funeral Mass will take place at St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 1ER, on June 5 at 2pm (live-stream available).
