James (Jimmy) Casey, The Blennicks, Rosses Point, Sligo / Kenagh, Longford

The death occurred at Sligo University Hospital on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 of James (Jimmy) Casey, The Blennicks, Rosses Point, Sligo and formerly Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by his wife Frances, his son Edmond, his parents Frank and Lil, his sisters Teresa and Berna and his infant brother Edward. Sadly missed by his loving son Jason, his devoted friend Mary, his brother Francis, his sisters Marie (Carroll), Eilish (Casey - Boyce), Martina (Williams) and Jackie (Leonard). His sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends. May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at the Nazareth House Chapel, Church Hill, Sligo (F91 DD72) from 4.30pm on Friday, March 7 with removal at 6pm to Saint Columba's Church, Rosses Point, Sligo, arriving at 6.30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Saturday, March 8 followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Ann Byrne (née Leavy), Rock View Terrace, Arklow, Wicklow / Ardagh, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in the tender care of Andrea, Paddy and the wonderful staff at Asgard Lodge Nursing Home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 of Ann Byrne (née Leavy), Rock View Terrace, Arklow Co Wicklow and formerly of Ardagh, Co Longford. 

Ann beloved wife of the late Liam and dearly loved mother of Niall, Leonard and Caitriona, adored nanny of Dylan, Freya, Kayla, Cian, Teagan and Noah, loving sister of Barney, Brendan, Paul, Margo, Kathleen, Betty and the late J.J. She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, son-in-law Kevin, daughter-in-law Patrice, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours. May She Rest in Peace.

Ann will be reposing at Hudson’s Funeral Home (Y14 PT80) on Friday, March 7 from 4pm to 7pm, with removal on Saturday morning, March 8 at 9.20am to The Church of Saints Mary & Peter, Arklow, arriving for Mass at 10am, followed by burial in St Gabriel’s Cemetery, Arklow. If you wish you can join in the celebration of Ann’s funeral Mass via Webcam | Arklow Parish | Diocese of Dublin

Josephine (Nora) Leavy (née Martyn), Derragh, Abbeylara, Longford / Tuam, Galway

The death occurred peacefully at her home after a long illness bravely borne on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 of Josephine (Nora) Leavy (nee Martyn), Derragh, Abbeylara, Longford and formerly of Aghloragh, Tuam, Co Galway.

Predeceased by her husband Edward; parents Mary and Thomas; sister Teresa; brothers Peter, James (infant), Sean and Christy. Josephine is survived by her loving children Mary (Lenehan), Patricia, Philip, James, John and Anne (McKiernan). Sons-in-law Tom and Aidan; Daughter-in-law Sharon; Patricia’s partner Pat, and John’s partner Caroline. Beloved grandchildren Conor, Shane, Shauna, Edward, Darren, Fíonn, Saoírse and Fíadh; Sisters-in-law Mary Gillespie and Angela Martyn; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Granard (N39AX97) on Thursday, March 6 from 4pm-6pm with removal to St Bernard’s Church, Abbeylara arriving for 7pm. Funeral mass on Friday March 7 at 12 noon followed by Christian burial in the adjoining cemetery. House strictly private please.

Mary Doyle (née Lennon), Navan Road, Dublin / Longford

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 of Mary Doyle (nee Lennon), Navan Road, Dublin 7 and formerly of Barry, Co Longford. 

Beloved wife of Paul and dear mother of Adrian, Brian, Karen, Claire, Dermot and Roy and a devoted grandmother of Keith, Graham, Ciaran and Erin. Sadly missed by her loving family, sisters Kathleen, Sheila and Ita, daughters-in-law Barbara, Christina, Jayne and Jazz, son-in-law Matt, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. RIP.

Removal from Cunningham's Funeral Home, Church Avenue, Blanchardstown to the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, Navan Road on Thursday evening, March 6 arriving at 5.30pm. Funeral on Friday morning, March 7 after 10am Mass to Rooske Lawn Cemetery.

Thomas (Tommy) Murphy, Treanmore, Mohill, Leitrim, N41 D590

The death occurred peacefully following a short illness, surrounded by his family, looked after by the wonderful team in the North West Hospice in Sligo on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 of Thomas (Tommy) Murphy, Treanmore, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Beloved husband of Betty (née Creamer) and beloved father of Joanne and Paul. Tommy will be deeply missed by his adored grandchildren Lauren, Sarah, Adam, Matthew, Zach and Emily, his son-in-law Brian Galligan and daughter-in-law Colette Mitchell. Predeceased by His Mother Mai (née Gordon) and father Thomas snr, brothers Michael and Paddy. Deeply missed by his sisters Chrissie, Mary and Eileen, his brother John, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, Uncle Gerry and Aunt Bridie, a wide circle of nephews and nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. May Tommy rest in Peace.

Reposing at his home on the Carrick Road, Mohill, (N41 D590), on Thursday, March 6 from 4pm to 8pm, house strictly private at all other times please. Removal to St Patrick's Church Mohill on Friday, March 7 for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Mohill Cemetery. Tommy's Funeral Mass may be viewed HEREFamily Flowers only please. Mary Bohan (née Kelly), Farnaught, Gortletteragh, Co Leitrim

The death occurred, surrounded by her loving family, peacefully at home, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 of Mary Bohan (née Kelly), Farnaught, Gortletteragh, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by her beloved husband Andy and her son Andrew.

Mary will be greatly missed by her loving family; Anne, Theresa, Mark, Thomas, Philip, daughters in-law Catriona and Tara, grandchildren Andrew, Dylan, Daniel, Evan, Bobby, sister in-law Myra and all her nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. May Mary Rest In Peace.

Removal to St Mary's Church Gortletteragh (Eircode N41HY61) on Friday, March 7 for funeral mass at 1pm followed by burial in Gortletteragh Cemetery. John Patrick (JP) Beirne, Clooncagh, Strokestown, Roscommon

The death occurred on Sunday, March 2, 2025 of John Patrick (JP) Beirne, Clooncagh, Strokestown, Roscommon. 

He will be sadly missed and remembered always by his loving parents Pat & Nora, his heartbroken partner Kirby & his cherished son Odhrán, his brothers Tom & Noel, sisters-in-law Mia & Sharon. Never forgotten by his godfather Tom Egan, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours & friends. May He Rest In Eternal Peace.

JP will repose at his parents home (Eircode: F42 F430) on Thursday, March 6 from 3pm to 7pm. Removal from his parents home on Friday March 7 to Carniska Church to arrive for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Lisonuffy Cemetery. 

Marie Cox (née Clarke), Cloonaufill, Rooskey, Roscommon / Mullingar, Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Sancta Maria Nursing Home, Kinnegad, Co Westmeath on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 of Marie Cox (née Clarke), Cloonaufill, Rooskey, Co Roscommon and formerly Clontytallon, Gaybrook, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.  

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Kathleen, her beloved husband Willie, brothers Jim, Barry, Tom and Oliver, her sisters Betty, Bridie (Sr Pius, Tullamore), Dympna and Gertie. Marie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, her good neighbour Paddy, extended family, neighbours and friends. May Marie's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace. 

Reposing at John Healy's Chapel of Rest, Rochfortbridge, Co Westmeath (N91 R291) on Friday, March 7 from 5pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Rooskey, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Killbarry cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live HERE.

Marie's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sancta Maria Nursing Home and her former carers Helen and Annette, for the excellent care of Marie.

Séamus O'Donnell, Dublin / Arva, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully, in the wonderful care of St Gabriel's Ward, Our Lady’s Hospice on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 of Seamus O'Donnell, Dublin and formerly of Arva, Co Cavan. 

Dearly loved father of Dearbhaile and husband of the late Conchessa (McCourt). Deeply regretted by his loving daughter, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

    The death occurred peacefully, in her 96th year, in the care of the staff of Roselodge Nursing Home, Killucan and surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 3, 2025 of Valerie Cooney (née Hollamby), Carpenterstown, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and formerly of London, England. 

    Predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick, brother John and grandson Robert. Sadly missed by her sons Patrick, David and Jonathan, daughters Hilary, Susan and Sara; sons-in-law Stephen and John, daughters-in-law Kathryn, Margaret and Helena; grandchildren Patrick, Jennifer, Karen, Gemma, Mark, Stephanie, Tim and Uilliam, and great-grandchildren; brother Derek, sisters-in-law Anne, Marie and Kathleen, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. May Valerie’s Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

    Reposing at Shaw’s Funeral Home, Bishopsgate Street, Mullingar (N91 RY65) on Wednesday, March 5 from 4.30pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass at St Feichin’s Church, Fore on Thursday, March 6 at 12 noon. Private cremation at a later date. House private at all times please. The Funeral Mass will be broadcast live HERE. The family appreciates your kind co-operation at this sad time.

    Sr Dominica (Peggy) O'Reilly, Rathbracken, Granard, Longford / Ballymote, Sligo

    The death occurred peacefully, in her 96th year, in West Leaderville, Perth, Australia, in the loving care of St John of God's Convent Sisters and her nephew, Kevin Gallagher on Friday, February 21, 2025 of Sr Dominica (Peggy) O'Reilly, late of Rathbracken, Granard, Co Longford and formerly of St John of God Convent, Dun Bhrid, Ballymote, Sligo. 

    Predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters, most recently her Sister Joan Gallagher, Rathbracken. Peg will be sadly missed by her Brother Tommy O'Reilly (Newry), Sisters Ellen Float (UK), Liz McNerney and Bridie Myericks (USA), nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

    A Memorial Mass will be offered in Peg's memory on March 21 at 7.30pm in St Mary's Church, Granard. Peg will be laid to rest in Perth. May she rest in eternal peace.
