Kathleen O'Brien, Sandymount, Sandymount, Dublin / Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred on Friday, March 15, 2024 of Kathleen O’Brien, Sandymount, Dublin and formerly of Park Road, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Dan and Mary Ann, sisters Bridie, Rosaleen, Guina and Pauline, brothers Thomas, Danny and Seamus, nieces Miriam and Ann and nephew Tom. Kathleen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sister Hanna, sisters-in-law Isabel and Anne, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Sam Noble, Cornadrung, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford, N39EH21 / Killeshandra, Cavan


The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at St James’s Hospital, Dublin on Thursday, March 14, 2024 of Sam Noble, Cornadrung, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford and Main Street, Killeshandra, Co Cavan. Sadly missed by his devoted wife Evelyn, daughter Jill, son Andrew, daughter-in-law Fiona, son-in-law Gary, grandchildren Dylan, Bryan, Mark and Emma, Dylan’s partner Kaitlin, great-grandchild Molly, sister Leila, brother Harry, sisters-in- law Heather, Irene and Sylvia and brother-in-law Joel, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his many many friends. It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. 
Resting at his son Andrew and daughter-in-law Fiona’s residence at Pulladoey, Aughnacliffe (N39 EH21), on Saturday, March 16 from 2pm to 6pm. Funeral service in St Thomas’s Church, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford, on Sunday, March 17 at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard. Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to the Respiratory Centre, Cavan General Hospital c/o Clive Magee, Funeral Director or any family member.

Paddy O'Neill, Kinard, Legan, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Joseph’s Care Centre, on Thursday, March 14, 2024 of Paddy O’Neill, Kinard, Legan, Co Longford. 
Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Madge, brother Sean and by his nephew Kevin. Paddy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, brother Gerry (Terlicken), sisters Miriam Murphy (Legan), Anita Finnegan (Newtowncashel), Josie Cox (Ballymahon), Carmel McGuire (Carrickedmond), Mary Dermody (Legan), Pansey Whyte (Multyfarnham) and Ethna Burke (New York), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Friday, March 15 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, March 16 at 12 noon in St Mary’s Church, Legan. Philomena (Phil) Fearon (née Fagan) Main Street, Ballymahon, Co Longford


The death occurred on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 of Philomena (Phil) Fearon (nee Fagan), Main Street, Ballymahon, Co Longford. She was predeceased by her loving husband Eddie and her infant son Robert and her brothers and sisters, Larry, Seamus, John, Patricia, Annie, Maisie and Roisin. She is survived by her daughter Anna Bergin (Cormac) and her sons Joseph (Rita), Paul (Deborah), Eamon and Stephen (Fiona) and by her sister, Sr Matilda (Agnes) and by her adored grandchildren Mark, Catherine, Matthew, Simon, Karl, Niamh, Caitriona, Brendan, Cora, Ethan, Ruairi, Aaron, Lucy and Rosanna.
Reposing at the residence of her son Stephen at Ballagh Road, Stonepark, Longford (N39 F3C2) this Thursday, March 14 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm followed by prayers. Removal on Friday morning, March 15 for mass of the Resurrection in St Matthew’s Church Ballymahon at 11am followed by burial in Shrule Cemetery. 

Gerard Rooney, Ballyleague, Roscommon / Cookstown, Tyrone


The death occurred peacefully, after a very short illness, in the care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 of Gerard Rooney, Lough Ree Park, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon and formerly of Cookstown, Co Tyrone. He will be very sadly missed by his family; Damien, Paul, Mary and David, brothers Robert and Brendan, sister Anne, daughters-in-law Jaime, Karo and Bernadette, son-in-law Brían, grandchildren Eleanor, Rosabel, Lily and Edith, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Gerard is predeceased by his parents Bob and Bella, sister Molly and brother Sean. May Gerard rest in peace.
Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Thursday evening, March 14 from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from his home in Lough Ree Park on Friday morning, March 15 at 11.30am arriving to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Ballyleague for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon. Breege Tierney (née McCabe), Percy French Park, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan / Kilcogy, Cavan


The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family and staff at Cavan General Hospital on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 of Breege Tierney (née McCabe) Percy French Park, Ballyjamesduff and formerly Clonlohan, Kilcogy. Predeceased by her loving husband Seamus, son Martin and grandchild Valentino.
Deeply regretted by her children; Marie, Thomas, Tony and Michael, her sister Roisin, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, friends, neighbours and her carers who looked after her for the last number of years. Rest In Peace.

Anna Magee (née Armstrong), Corstruce, Ballinagh, Cavan


The death occurred in her 96th year, peacefully in the loving care of her family and staff of Oakview Private Nursing Home, Belturbet, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 of Anna Martha Magee (nee Armstrong) Corstruce, Ballinagh and formerly of Cornamuckla, Ballinagh, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her loving husband Billy. Much loved mother of Barbara, Albert, Karl, John, Lorna, Iris, Pearl and Olwyn, sadly missed by her sons, daughters, sister-in-law Ruth, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The death  occurred surrounded by his loving family in the care of the medical staff of St Anne’s Ward Beaumont Hospital, Dublin on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 of Thomas Moore, Main Street, Ballinagh, Co Cavan. Sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend Caroline, son Thomas Jnr, his adoring parents Tom and Kathleen, and his sisters Joanne (Shane), Lorraine and Karen, parents-in-law Gerry and Bernie, brother-in-law Pauric, sisters-in-law Noelle and Fiona, aunts, uncles and cousins and his large circle of close friends.

The death occurred peacefully at Lough Erril Nursing Home, Mohill on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 of Jim (James) McGovern, Camber, Cloone, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Sarah. The death occurred on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 of Ciaran O'Byrne, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim and formerly, Graiges Lane, Dunmoe, Navan, Co Meath. Loving son of the late James and Mary O'Byrne. Ciarán will be sadly missed by his brothers, Declan, Seamus and Fergal and sisters Deirdre and Maura and many nieces and nephews. The death occurred on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 of Gene Gray, Drumdoo, Mohill, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his dear parents Patrick and Mary Ellen and his sisters Marie and Lily (McGillen). Beloved uncle of Padraig (Grace), Michael (Joan) and Kevin (Trish) McGillen, his cousins Jim Bohan and Bridie Kelly and will be sadly missed by his friends and dear neighbours. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Predeceased by his parents Jim and Margaret, his sister Pauline and brother Peter. Miko (Michael), loving husband of Maura and father to Jimmy (Brussels), Paddy (Castlerea), Michael (London), Mark, Fidelma, Martin, Paul and Judith (Castlerea), Margaret (Annaduff) and Sarah (London). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, his sons and daughters, his 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also, by his brother Vincent (Australia) and sister Mary (Dublin), his sons-in-law Kevin Shaughnessy, Luke Flanagan, Mark Rowley and Justin Denchfield, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and his many friends. The recent death has occurred suddenly, at her residence in Burnham on Crouch, Essex (and late of Kenagh, County Longford) on Sunday, January 28, 2024 of Berna Casey, Burnham on Crouch, Essex and late of Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by her beloved partner, Pat, her loving parents Frank and Lil, her sister Teresa and infant brother Edward.
Sadly missed by her loving family, brothers - Jimmy and Francis, sisters - Marie (Carroll), Eilish (Casey-Boyce), Martina (Williams) and Jackie (Leonard), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, colleagues and a wide circle of friends. May She Rest In Peace. 
Berna's Funeral has taken place privately, in accordance with her wishes. Her family would like to thank all those who thought of them during this sad time.
