The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 29, 2024 of Elizabeth Gilchriest (nee Owens) Glack, Longford town and formerly of Granard and Ardagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Patrick, sisters Margaret Kerrigan (Dublin), Catherine Murray and Breege Carroll and brothers Hughie (U.K.) and John (Chuck). Elizabeth will be forever missed by her heartbroken family; loving husband Willie, daughters Fiona Cassells, Sarah Lennon and Emma Shedwell, sister Maureen, brothers Patrick (U.K.), Michael and Brendan, sons in law Michael, Ciaran and Kevin, sisters in law, brother in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the care of the staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar on Thursday, February 29, 2024 of Peter Smyth, Main Street, Lanesboro, Co Longford (ex Bord na Mona).Predeceased by his parents Pat & Nellie and his brother John. Sadly missed by his family, uncle Johnny (Weekfield, Roscommon) brothers Hughie & Patrick, sisters Eithne (Clyne) & Caroline (Ginty), brothers in law, sister in law, his nephews Ciaran & Rory (Australia), nephew Francis and niece Elizabeth, relatives and friends. Marguerite Kirwan (née Donlon), Dalkey, Dublin / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of all the staff of Talbot Lodge Nursing Home, Malahide on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 of Marguerite Kirwan (née Donlon), Dalkey, Co Dublin, late of Longford. Marguerite, beloved wife of the late Matt, much loved and loving mother of Sarah. Sadly missed by her daughter, son-in-law Darren, adored grandchildren Isabelle and Isaac, brother Tommy Noel, sisters Antoinette and Colette, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Remembering also her late sister Mary.Reposing on Sunday, March 3 in Quinn’s of Glasthule from 2pm to 4pm. Removal on Monday, March 4 to the Church of the Assumption, Dalkey arriving for 12.30pm Funeral Mass which can be viewed online at www.churchservices.tv/dalkey followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. The death occurred peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 1, 2024 of Patrick Joseph Dooner, Listea Cottage, Aughaboy, Killoe, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Alice. Patrick will be forever missed and always remembered with love by his family, his wife Janine, sons Ian and Nathan, daughter-in-law Jessica, his adored grandchildren Lilly, Effy, Phoebe and Connor, his brothers and sisters Brian, Michael, John, David, Mark, Vivien, Trica and Linda, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces relatives, neighbours and his many dear friends. Constance (Connie) Lloyd (née Denniston), Winetown, Rathowen, Westmeath / Longford
The death occurred peacefully, aged 100 years on Thursday, February 29, 2024 of Constance (Connie) Lloyd, Winetown, Rathowen, Co Westmeath. Predeceased by her husband Tommy, sons Gordon and Ivor. Connie will be sadly missed by her loving family, sons Frank and Robert, daughter Olive, grandchildren, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, relatives and friends. The darkness falls at Thy behest.

The death occurred peacefully, in the devoted care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 of Thomas Kelly, Cloonadra, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon and formerly of Carraroe, Lanesboro, Co Longford and Dysart, Co Roscommon. He will be very sadly missed by his sons Niall and Alan, daughter Marina, sister Catherine Gallagher (Curraghboy) and Mary Hadler (U.K.), brothers Richard (Ballyforan), Dan (U.K.) and Jimmy (Isle of Man), daughters-in-law Kim, Kate and Anne, grandchildren Ciara, Michael, Samantha, Fiona, Aidan, Scarlett, Maeve and Saoirse, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many wonderful friends, especially Mary and Caroline. Thomas is predeceased by his beloved son Kenneth, parents Thomas and Anne, sisters Margaret, Bridie, Alice and Nancy, brothers William, Michael, Ted, Peter, Josie and Paddy May Thomas rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital following a short illness surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 1, 2024 of Mary McAvinue, Chapel Road, Arva, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her beloved husband Barney. Greatly missed by her sons Bernard, Fintan, Martin, daughter Irene, cherished grandson Finbar and granddaughters Mary Jane and DD.

Bridget Tierney (née Reilly), Drumgore, Loughduff, Cavan


The death occurred, peacefully, in the tender care of her very devoted family, in her 109th year, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 of Bridget Tierney (née Reilly), Drumgore, Loughduff, Cavan. Predeceased by her husband Patrick, son Vincent, daughter Patricia and brother-in-law Joe, her brothers James and Sonny and her sister Elizabeth. Sadly missed by her adoring family; her daughters Mary, Margaret, Pauline, Betty and Kitty, her sons John and Tom, sons-in-law; John Joe, Peter, John Joe and Colm, daughters-in-law; Maureen and Eileen. Cherished by her 30 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Kathleen, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, her close neighbours and friends.R.I.P.
Bridget will repose at her home in Drumgore on Thursday, February 29 from 5pm-10pm and on Friday, March 1 from 1pm-4.30pm, all welcome during these hours. Removal to St Joseph's Church, Loughduff (H12F968), on Friday evening to arrive for 8pm. Bridget's funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2 at 12pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. (A shuttle bus service will be in operation from Loughduff Church carpark on both evenings).

Patrick (Pat) McGirl, Washington Township, New Jersey, USA and Camber, Aughavas, Leitrim


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of his family, on Monday, February 26, 2024 of Patrick (Pat) McGirl, Washington Township, New Jersey, USA and Camber, Aughavas, Leitrim. Beloved husband of Margaret and pre-deceased by his brothers Charlie and Leo. Pat will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, family and friends. His sense of fun, his quick wit and strongly held passions will be lovingly remembered by all of his family, and by his wide circle of friends & neighbours. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal. The death occurred peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024 of Bridget (Bridie) Daly (nee Walsh), Esker Rí Nursing Home, Clara, late of Mount Carmel Drive, Moate, Westmeath and formerly of Liss, Glasson, Westmeath. Sadly missed by her beloved brother Martin, sister-in-law Mary, nieces, relatives and many friends. May She Rest In Peace.
