The death occurred peacefully, in the devoted care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 of Thomas Kelly, Cloonadra, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon and formerly of Carraroe, Lanesboro, Co Longford and Dysart, Co Roscommon. He will be very sadly missed by his sons Niall and Alan, daughter Marina, sister Catherine Gallagher (Curraghboy) and Mary Hadler (U.K.), brothers Richard (Ballyforan), Dan (U.K.) and Jimmy (Isle of Man), daughters-in-law Kim, Kate and Anne, grandchildren Ciara, Michael, Samantha, Fiona, Aidan, Scarlett, Maeve and Saoirse, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many wonderful friends, especially Mary and Caroline. Thomas is predeceased by his beloved son Kenneth, parents Thomas and Anne, sisters Margaret, Bridie, Alice and Nancy, brothers William, Michael, Ted, Peter, Josie and Paddy May Thomas rest in peace.
Reposing at Smyth's Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Friday evening, March 1 from 5pm until 7pm followed by removal to St Patrick’s Church, Dysart (H53 DK12). Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, March 2 at 11.30am with burial afterwards in Dysart Cemetery. Family flowers only please to the Roscommon Hospice - DONATE HERE.

Theresa McDermott Quinn, Cloncaulfield, Moydow, Longford


The death occurred at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 of Theresa McDermott Quinn, Cloncaulfield, Moydow, Longford. Predeceased by her father Joe, her mother Rita and her brother Sean. Theresa will be deeply missed by her heartbroken family; husband Ronan, son Shane, sister Elizabeth Yorke, brothers Dermot, Richard and Joseph, mother-in-law Teresa Quinn, sisters in law, brothers in law, Shane's partner Cara, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, god-daughters, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing in Glennon's Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford, on Thursday evening, February 29 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, March 1 at 12noon in St Brigid's Church, Ardagh, interment afterwards in Moydow Cemetery.

Bridget Tierney (née Reilly), Drumgore, Loughduff, Cavan


The death occurred, peacefully, in the tender care of her very devoted family, in her 109th year, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 of Bridget Tierney (née Reilly), Drumgore, Loughduff, Cavan. Predeceased by her husband Patrick, son Vincent, daughter Patricia and brother-in-law Joe, her brothers James and Sonny and her sister Elizabeth. Sadly missed by her adoring family; her daughters Mary, Margaret, Pauline, Betty and Kitty, her sons John and Tom, sons-in-law; John Joe, Peter, John Joe and Colm, daughters-in-law; Maureen and Eileen. Cherished by her 30 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Kathleen, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, her close neighbours and friends.R.I.P.
Bridget will repose at her home in Drumgore on Thursday, February 29 from 5pm-10pm and on Friday, March 1 from 1pm-4.30pm, all welcome during these hours. Removal to St Joseph's Church, Loughduff (H12F968), on Friday evening to arrive for 8pm. Bridget's funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2 at 12pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. (A shuttle bus service will be in operation from Loughduff Church carpark on both evenings).

Patrick (Pat) McGirl, Washington Township, New Jersey, USA and Camber, Aughavas, Leitrim


The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of his family, on Monday, February 26, 2024 of Patrick (Pat) McGirl, Washington Township, New Jersey, USA and Camber, Aughavas, Leitrim. Beloved husband of Margaret and pre-deceased by his brothers Charlie and Leo. Pat will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, family and friends. His sense of fun, his quick wit and strongly held passions will be lovingly remembered by all of his family, and by his wide circle of friends & neighbours. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal. The Funeral will begin on Monday, March 4, at 8:45am from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, New Jersey, USA. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 34 Maple Ave. Hackensack, at 10am. Entombment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, from 4 – 8pm for visitation at the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack, New Jersey, USA.

The death occurred,  peacefully, at St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, with Sheelagh at his side and surrounded by his family, on Thursday, February 29, 2024 of Donal Egan, Sydenham Court, Ballsbridge, Dublin / Castlepollard, Westmeath / Kells, Kilkenny. Donal will be sadly missed by Sheelagh, his son Carl, grandchildren Joe and Grace, daughter in law Mary, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May Donal Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully with her loving family by her side and in the devoted care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital on Sunday, February 25, 2024 of Mary Kelly (nee Rowland), Granard, Co Longford and formerly Tudenham Park, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. Predeceased by her father Tom. Mary will be very sadly missed and always remembered by her husband Gerry, her adored children Grace and Gary, her dear mother Margaret, sister Gabrielle, brothers Tommy, John, Bernard and her twin brother Tony, uncle Pat, sisters-in-law Carole, Debbie and Yvonne, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Predeceased by her husband Brendan, sister Patricia (O'Neill) and brother Joseph. Sadly missed by her loving sisters, Maggie, Lilly and Catherine, brothers in law P. The death occurred peacefully at St James's Hospital, Dublin surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 22, 2024 of Michael John Canning, Lisomadaun, Gorvagh, Co. Leitrim.  Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Rose Anne. Sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Peter (Portmarnock, Co Dublin), Nuala (Surrey, England), Rose Anne (Florida, USA) and Tony (Castlefin, Co Donegal), brothers in law, sister in law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Tommy and her sister Rose.
