Sean Kearney, Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown, Longford


The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his family and in the loving care of the staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, on Saturday, December 9, 2023 of Sean Kearney, Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown, Longford. Predeceased by his beloved wife Peggy and brother Seamus. Deeply regretted by his brother Joe, sisters Maureen (Hughes) and Anne (Gerety), nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, sister-in-law Pauline, brother-in-law John, cousins, friends and good neighbours. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Our Lady's Manor, Edgeworthstown, on Monday, December 11 from 5pm with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 12 in St Mary's Church, Edgeworthstown, at 12 noon. Michael Browne, Clonmee, Lanesboro, Longford


The death occurred peacefully, on Saturday, December 9, 2023 of Michael Browne, Clonmee, Lanesboro, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Kate, sister Maureen and sister-in-law Nellie. Michael will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, brother Seán, niece Anne and her husband David, grand-niece Ava, grand-nephew Jack, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Tuesday, December 12 from 6.30pm concluding with prayers at 8.30pm. Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon on Wednesday, Decembeer 13 in the Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel, followed by private cremation. House private please.

Annie Skelly (née Mulligan), Knappogue, Clondra, Longford


The death occurred peacefully at home, on Saturday,  December 9, 2023 of Annie Skelly (née Mulligan), Knappogue, Clondra, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Annie, sister Sr Lucy, brothers Tommy and Michael and recently by her beloved husband Noel. Annie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Anne, Mary (Donlon), Margaret (Clancy), Catherine (Follin) and Frances (McDonnell), son Pat, sisters Sr. Madge Cuthbert (F.M.D.M) and Rena Carty, sons-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, on Saturday,  December 9, 2023 of Micheal Reilly, Ballyduffy, Moyne, Longford / Arva, Cavan. Predeceased by his father Hugh. Sadly missed by his loving mother Nuala, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and many friends. Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Sunday, December 10 from 5pm until 8pm. Removal on Monday morning, December 11 at 11am to arrive at St Mary's Church, Moyne for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. May He Rest In Peace.

Joseph Gordon Condron, Whitehill, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford


The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Mullingar Regional Hospital, on Friday,  December 8, 2023 of Joseph Gordon Condron, Whitehill, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford. Predeceased by his beloved wife Maureen, parents Jo and Anne, brothers Alfie and Gerald. Gordon will be forever missed and always remembered by his loving family, sons Joe, James, Gerry, Michael and Patrick, daughters Mary and Finola, brother Malachy and sister-in-law Marlene (Australia), son-in-law Michael Kelly, daughters-in-law Ann, Deirdre, Donna, Michelle and Edel, his adored grandchildren Shaun, Jane, Sarah, Mark, Lisa, Niall, Aóife, Amy, Ruth, Nicole, Rosanna, Ruby, Louise, Caillum, Shane, and Eóin, his adored great-grandchildren Rian, Jaymie-Grace, James, Isabella-Maureen, Dáire-Gordon, Sophia, Amélie-Grace, Renesmee, Harvey and James, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and his many dear friends. Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Chapel, Edgeworthstown, on Sunday, December 10 from 4pm concluding with prayers 6pm. Removal from his home on Monday, December 11 to arrive to St James's Church, Clonbroney, Ballinalee, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass, Gordon will be laid to rest alongside his wife Maureen in the adjoining Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Irish Heart Foundation, c/o Connell Funeral Directors or any family member.

Patrick Dunleavy, Ballinaboola, Wexford / Castlepollard, Co Westmeath


The death occurred on Sunday, December 3, 2023 of Patrick Dunleavy, Ballinaboola, Wexford/ Castlepollard, Co Westmeath. He is survived by his loving wife Bridie (nee Crosbie) Bayview Bannow, son Ivan (London), daughter Fiona (USA), predeceased by his son Eamonn, parents Edward and Catherine and his brother Bill. Sadly missed by his daughters in law Rebecca and Mary, grandchildren Thomas, Emma Lara, Aidan, Evan and great grandchild Lilah, sisters Ida and Bernadette, brothers John, Brendan, Anthony, Donald, Aidan, brothers in law, sisters in law, relatives, neighbours and friends. May He Rest in Peace.
Reposing in Ryan's Funeral Home, Wellingtonbridge (Y35RP21) on Monday, December 11 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Removal on Tuesday, December 12 to the Church of Mary Immaculate and St. Joseph, Carrig on Bannow arriving for funeral mass at 12pm followed by burial in Bannow cemetery. Family flowers only donations if desired to the Irish Cancer Society.

Joseph Lloyd, late of Hall Green, Birmingham, formerly of Forgney, Ballymahon, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by his family, aged 85, on Saturday, November 11, 2023 of Joseph Lloyd, late of Hall Green, Birmingham, formerly of Forgney, Ballymahon, Longford. Predeceased by his wife Bridget, sisters Rosie, Bridie and Maureen, and brothers Tom, Sean and Pat. Much loved by sons Joseph and John, daughter-in-law Sue, sisters Dympna (London), Sarah (Moate), and Kathleen (USA), brothers Bill (Birmingham), Matt (Dublin), Mike (Forgney), and Christy (Surrey). He will be deeply missed by all family and friends.
Reception into Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Yardley Wood, Thursday, December 14 at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, December 15 at 11.00am, followed by burial at Robin Hood Cemetery. Flowers welcome, or donations, if desired, to the Birmingham Irish Association, via collection at the church.
