Frank Walsh, Park Villas, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of the Sunflower Suite, Autumn Lodge, St Joseph's Hospital, Longford, surrounded by his heartbroken family, on Saturday November 4, 2023 of Frank Walsh, Park Villas, Longford Town, Longford and formerly of Richmond Street, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Hilda, brothers Patrick and Johnny and sister Rita.
Frank will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by his family, wife Bernie, daughter Lisa, sons Ollie and Chris, son-in-law John, daughters-in-law Grace and Sinead, adored grand-children Dillon, Dara, Claire-Belle, Rory and Noah, brother Peter and sister Lilly, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deep are the memories, Precious they stay, No passing of time, Can take them away, Rest in Peace Frank.
Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, N39 KN66, on Monday, November 6 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Arriving to St Mel's Cathedral, on Tuesday, November 7 for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan, at 1.30pm. Mass can be viewed live: Click Here

Fr Michael Dodd, St Columban's, Dalgan Park, Navan, Meath / Edgeworthstown, Longford
The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of St Columban's Retirement Home, Navan, on Sunday November 5, 2023 of Fr Michael Dodd, (Columban Fathers), Liscahill, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford; Korea, USA and Dalgan Park, Navan. Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Delia, brother Anthony. Very deeply regretted by his sister May, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, Columban family and friends. May Fr Michael Rest in Peace.
Removal and Evening Prayer on Monday evening, November 6 at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, November 7 at 11am, followed by burial in the Community Cemetery. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal. 

Mel Cox, 'Lucerne', Arcadia, Athlone, Westmeath, N37 WK10 / Dromod, Leitrim


The death occurred, unexpectedly, in the exceptional care of Ratoath Manor Nursing Home, Co Meath, on Saturday November 4, 2023 of Mel Cox, 'Lucerne', Arcadia, Athlone, Co Westmeath and formerly of Dromod, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, sister Eileen (Hanley), twin brother Fr Gene Cox and younger brother Stanley. Sadly missed by his loving family Mary, Anne Marie, Bernie and Gerard, sons-in-law John and Tom, daughter-in-law Anne, grandchildren Ann Marie, J.J., Gina, Sean, Emma, John and Oran, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends. May He Rest In Peace.
Reposing at his residence (Lucerne, Arcadia, N37 WK10) on Tuesday evening, November 7 from 5pm until 8pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday, November 8 in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Coosan at 11am followed by burial afterwards in Coosan Cemetery. House private on Wednesday morning please.

Jimmy Finn, Derryhaun, Kenagh, Co Longford
The death occurred peacefully at his home on Thursday November 2, 2023 of  Jimmy Finn, 19 Derryhaun, Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by his son David. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Betty, his children Mary, Paddy, PJ, Seamus, Esther, Lizzie, Carmel and Valerie, his grandchildren David, Kevin, Doireann, Shauna, Patrick, Molly and Amy and great grandson Lachlann. May Jimmy Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Farrell's Funeral Home, Lanesboro (N39 HV52) on Saturday, November 4 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Sunday, November 5 arriving at the Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel, for Funeral Mass at 12:30pm. Burial afterwards in Kilcommock Cemetery. Home Private Please. John Harkness, Aughavore, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim

The death occurred tragically, as a result of an accident, on Thursday, November 2, 2023 of John Harkness, Aughavore, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his father Jim. John will be very sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Paula, sons Mark and Jonathan, daughter Claire, mother Bertha, brothers Alan (Siofra), Robert (Ruth) Winston (Daphne), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, uncle and aunts, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Resting at the family home (H12 E972) on Saturday, November 4, from 2pm - 6pm. A one way system will operate during reposing times. Enter from the Kilbracken side and exit via Sonnagh on the Arva road. Please follow the directions of the stewards. Funeral cortege leaving the family home on Sunday afternoon, November 5, via Sonnagh, arriving at Carrigallen Parish Church at 2pm for funeral service followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.

Sean Flanagan, Lacken, Glasson, Athlone, Westmeath


The death occurred peacefully at home after a long illness surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 2, 2023 of Sean Flanagan, Lacken, Glasson, Athlone, Westmeath.
Predeceased by his father John, mother Annie, sister Mary Donohoe and nephew Frank. Sean will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Anne of 52 years. Survived by his children John, Aidan, Anne Marie and Julisa, daughters in law and sons in law Shirley, Dana, Ian Dermody and Gerry O’Grady, his grandchildren Ruby, Ciara, Lily-Mai, Annabelle, Chloe, Katelyn, Patrick and Sophie, his nieces Breda and Anne, relatives, neighbours and friends. A special mention of thanks to Sean’s carer Kathleen who cared for Sean during his long illness to which his family will be eternally grateful. Rest in Peace.

Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tubberclaire on Sunday, November 5 at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
