The death occurred peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Mayo Hospice, Castlebar, surrounded by her heartbroken family on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 of Ann Dowling Hughes, Listrahee, Ballinalee, Longford.
Predeceased by her husband John, parents and brother George. Ann will be sadly missed and always remembered by her family, her beloved son Sean and his fiancée Breda, sisters Teresa Keegan (Mullingar) and Kay Grant (Letterkenny), brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnephew, relatives, neighbours and her many dear friends. Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Chapel, Edgeworthstown, on Thursday, September 7 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Funeral cortege will leave her home on Friday, September 8 to arrive to St James Church, Clonbroney, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The death occurred, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Newbrook Nursing Home, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 of Catherine Hevehan (née Costello), Clonmee, Lanesboro, Longford. Predeceased by her parents and by her beloved son T.J. Catherine will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Patrick, daughter Mary, sister Celia, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred, peacefully, in the Mullingar Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 of Joseph Skelly, Moatfarrell, Ballinalee, Longford and formerly Mullinroe, Dring and Reading, England. Predeceased by his parents Mary and John, brothers and sister. Joseph will be forever missed by his family, son Jason, brother Bernard, sister Margaret (USA), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred suddenly on Thursday, August 31, 2023 of Br Daniel Patrick Carlin, De La Salle Brothers, Castletown, Laois / Longford and Saint Joseph School, Addis Ababa. Predeceased by his parents Freddie and Mary.  Deeply regretted by his brother Laurence, niece Siobhan, and cousins in Derry, London and Longford, parents, teachers and pupils St. Joseph School and especially by his confreres in Ethiopia, District of Lwanga Africa and the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta.

The death occurred, peacefully, in Paramount, Los Angeles, USA, in the loving care of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph Community, on Sunday, September 3, 2023 of Sr Brigid Maguire, Lisnacreevagh, Colehill, Longford. Predeceased by her sisters Sr. Margaret and Mary Jane and her brother Michael. Sadly missed by her nephew Ciaran Kavanagh, Daughters of Mary and Joseph Community, cousins, relatives and friends. Rest in peace.

Patrick (Pat) Scully, Cloonmorris, Bornacoola, Leitrim / Longford

The death occurred peacefully at St James Hospital, Leeds in the presence of his family on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 of Patrick (Pat) Scully Morley, Leeds, UK, formerly Cloonmorris, Bornacoola, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his brothers John and Thomas (Sonny) and his sister Eileen (O’Reilly, Abbeylara, Longford). Deeply missed by his beloved wife Anne (nee Brett, Kilkelly, Mayo), sons Vincent, John, Adrian and Malcolm, daughters-in-law Claire, Julie and Natalie, grandchildren Heather, Amelia & Eleanor, sister Maeve (Leahy USA), his nephews, nieces, neighbours and many friends. Predeceased by her loving husband Patrick, brothers Kevin and Harry. Deeply missed by her brother Brendan, daughters Joan (Keane) and Ruth (Charles), her grandchildren Jonathan, Marta and Lucy, sons-in-law Ron and John, sister-in-law Margaret, her nephew Peter, all her cousins, extended family and friends.
Reposing at her home in Ardandragh, Legan (N39E2K4) this Tuesday, September 5 from 3pm. Funeral mass on Wednesday, September 6 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Abbeyshrule at 12 noon followed by burial in Abbeyshrule Cemetery alongside Pat. "Until we meet again". Vincent & Elizabeth Tierney, Granard, Longford / Killoe, Longford

The deaths have occured of Vincent & Elizabeth Tierney, 39 School Lane, Kettering North Hants NN16 0DH. Elizabeth, on August 14, 2023 and her husband Vincent, on August 31, both surrounded by their loving family. Elizabeth aged 97 (nee Campbell) late of Aughaboy Killoe, Co.Longford and her husband Vincent aged 93 of Main Street Granard, Co Longford. Elizabeth & Vincent will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by their sons Vincent, Val and Laur. Daughters Helen and Elaine. Sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Elizabeth's brother John Campbell and his wife Kathleen. Vincent's sister in law Mary Tierney (Buttlersbridge). Nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends.
A Joint Funeral has been arranged for Thursday, September 7 at 11am in St Edward's Church, Kettering with removals previous evening at 4pm. 
Following cremation Elizabeth & Vincent will return to Granard with Mass at St Mary's Church, Granard to celebrate their wonderful, happy lives and burial afterwards to the Tierney family grave at Granardkille old cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully in Cavan General Hospital on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 of Vincent Leddy, Dingins, Corlismore, Cavan. Deeply regretted by his brother James, sisters Nuala, Julia and Helen, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, brothers-in-law, extended family and many friends and good neighbours. Vincent will repose in Lakelands Funeral Home (H12 RF78) on Thursday, September 7 from 5.15pm to 6.15pm with removal to the Church of the Holy Family, Loch Gowna (H12 FT54) for 7pm. Brian will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, mother Agnes brother Thomas, sister Eilish, sister-in-law Johanne, brother-in-law Denis, nephews Conor, Cathal and Dylan, uncles, aunts, relatives and his many friends and neighbours. The death occurred peacefully, after a brief illness, bravely borne, in the loving care of the staff of Mayo-Roscommon Hospice and her family on Monday, September 4, 2023 of Mary Higgins (nee Hand), Barrymore, Kiltoom, Athlone. Beloved wife of Eamonn and adoring mother of Cian, Eavan and son-in- law Shane, Mary is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Teresa Hand (Ardmullen) and her brother, Det. Gda Frank Hand (Lucan).
Sadly missed by her sisters, Teresa Hand-Campbell (The Glebe, Kiltoom) and Breda Hand (Fardrum, Athlone), her brothers Michael Hand (Rathfarnham), John Hand (Navan) and Eugene Hand (Brideswell), sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a wide circle of friends and colleagues at Coláiste Chiáráin/St. Joseph’s College Summerhill and Convent of Mercy, Granard where she inspired, informed and influenced generations of young students.
